Hamas Lies, Child Dies, Blames Israel- Media Puppets Repeat Lies, Then Retract Them

By Susan Duclos

Over the last week Hamas has been caught using a photo of a dead child who died in Syria, and claiming it was a child killed by Israel in Gaza, and captured video of a man supposedly injured enough to have to be carried away, just to have him walking around, completely unharmed in the same footage later.

One has to wonder how many times one group of Islamic Extremists aka Terrorists can punk the mainstream media before the MSM gets a clue that they are nothing but pawns who continue to be embarrassed and humiliated when bloggers have to do their job for them and research the truth, report it, then force the MSM to retract their original lies.

The most recent example is a picture of a dead child with the Egyptian PM, standing with Gaza's Hama PM, claiming the baby was killed by the Israeli airstrikes.

CNN as well as multiple other mainstream news outlets reported the tale, yet a blogger,  Elder of Ziyon, did the media's job for them, found that no Israel attacks happened at the time because of the Egyptian PM's visit and it was Hamas, who did continue firing rockets at the time, that cause the death of the child.

CNN kinda, sorta issues a partial retraction without mention of how they and others slandered Israel before confirming and verifying and obtaining the truth.

More from Elder of Ziyon:

I just heard CNN retract the story that falsely claimed that an Israeli bomb had killed Mahmoud Sadallah, the child cynically used for a  photo-op with Egyptian PM Kandil and Hamas terrorist leader Ismail Haniyeh.

The correction was aired on the Don Lemon program. (Lemon has not been very friendly towards the Israeli narrative from what I can tell).

I had noticed the error yesterday and my research has since been noted in numerous media outlets and websites.

The post went viral with some 16,000 hits so far.

The CNN story is still online, however, without any correction as of yet. Neither has the reporter, Sara Sidner, commented about it on her Twitter timeline, although she has not updated it at all since the story.

As far as I know, the Daily Mirror has not issued a correction.

Earlier, Reuters likewise issued a correction for the many photo captions they had that falsely accused Israel.

Via Honest Reporting, we see some journalists are finally reporting the truth:

The truth has now emerged. Credit to some journalists for admitting, for once, that Israel was not the responsible party. The Sunday Telegraph reports (emphasis added):

But there were signs on Saturday that not all the Palestinian casualties have been the result of Israeli air strikes. The highly publicised death of four-year-old Mohammed Sadallah appeared to have been the result of a misfiring home-made rocket, not a bomb dropped by Israel.
The child’s death on Friday figured prominently in media coverage after Hisham Kandil, the Egyptian prime minister, was filmed lifting his dead body out of an ambulance. “The boy, the martyr, whose blood is still on my hands and clothes, is something that we cannot keep silent about,” he said, before promising to defend the Palestinian people.

But experts from the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights who visited the site on Saturday said they believed that the explosion was caused by a Palestinian rocket.

Melanie Phillips points out the incredible job Israel has done to minimize the civilian deaths as much as possible with pinpointed strikes to stop the rockets that have been launched from Gaza almost continuously aimed at Israel.

Since the beginning of Israel’s operation Pillar of Defence last Wednesday against Hamas rocket attacks, there have been more than 1000 Israeli air strikes. At time of writing, the Palestinian death toll is 69. That is a staggeringly small number of fatalities for more than 1000 bombing raids.

It shows beyond doubt that the Israelis are not only doing everything they can to avoid civilian casualties, but have achieved a degree of precision in doing so which no other army can match. For sure, every civilian casualty is regrettable, and the deaths of children are always tragic -- today’s apparently heavy toll particularly so, including at what appears to have been a mistaken target. Such mistakes inevitably happen in war.

But consider this: the very low casualty rate among Israelis from the thousands of rockets that have rained down on them from Gaza is largely due to the fact that Israel has provided its citizens with shelters to save their lives. In Gaza, by horrific contrast, the Hamas leadership has deliberately exposed its citizens to attack by siting its rocket arsenals among them in order to maximise the number of civilian men, women and children who will be killed.

Hamas fires hundreds of rockets into Israel's civilian populations, they fire those rockets using innocent men, women and children as human shields by hiding like cowards among them, then they trot the dead out for photo ops, blame Israel and the media, being the useful media parrots they are, report their lies.

They have done this before, it worked:

  • Hamas admits to using human shields
In 2008 , Gaza MP Fathi Muhammad boasted that Hamas used Gaza’s civilian population as human shields. He screamed:

‘For the Palestinian people, death has become an industry at which women excel, and so do all the people living on this land. The elderly excel at this, and so do the mujahideen and the children. This is why they have formed human shields of the women, the children, the elderly and the mujahideen, in order to challenge the Zionist bombing machine. It is as if they were saying to the Zionist enemy, “We desire death like you desire life”.’

Remember this next time you hear or read of claims by Palestinians or their useful western media idiots of ‘massacres’ of civilians in Gaza.

Ms. Phillips also points out the irony of all of this:

Unprecedentedly for a country at war, Israel continues to supply food, gas and medical supplies to its enemies in Gaza for humanitarian reasons. Would any other country in the world keep the supply route open to people who are firing thousands of rockets to murder its people and are threatening to turn themselves into human bombs to kill its soldiers and civilians, so that they can continue to do so?

 Indeed.

[Update] Despite the media's propensity to unfairly report on the conflicts between Hamas and Israel with their anti-Israel bias, the majority of the American public support Israel in the latest CNN poll:

A CNN/ORC International poll released Monday indicates that 57% of the public says Israel is justified in taking military action in Gaza against Hamas, with one in four saying the attacks are unjustified.

The breakdown is no surprise, Republicans and Independents are more supportive of Israel, and Democrats are the only segment which shows less than a majority of support:

"Only four in ten Democrats think the Israeli actions in Gaza are justified, compared to 74% of Republicans and 59% of independents.
