Obama Campaign Calls Liberal 'Cheat Sheet' Bloggers 'The Tin Foil Hat Crowd'

By Susan Duclos

At a time when the Obama campaign cannot afford to alienate even one of their base of voters, they do exactly that by referring to some of the most far left liberal bloggers, with huge online readerships, as "The tin foil hat crowd."

The tall tale in question:

And speaking of the debate, you may have come across a story suggesting that Governor Romney used a cheat sheet.

This screen-grab from the debate appears to show a neatly folded handkerchief -- which is actually what it was -- Romney later used that handkerchief in the debate.

Liberal bloggers that questioned whether it could have been a "cheat sheet" before that theory was debunked:

Shortly after the presidential debate last week, a number of liberal bloggers including ones at Daily Kos, FireDogLake, Democratic Underground, and the Daily Beast’s Andrew Sullivan, among others, began posting items suggesting that Mitt Romney had cheated during the debate.

Fox asked the Obama campaign for its reaction. Spokesman Ben LaBolt provided them with the following statement:
No — We’ve never casted our lot with the tinfoil hat crowd.

 Wiki:

The concept of wearing a tin foil hat for protection from such threats has become a popular stereotype and term of derision; the phrase serves as a byword for paranoia and persecutory delusions, and is associated with conspiracy theorists.

Sean Higgins, via Washington Examiner, asks "Do those bloggers know the administration apparently holds them in such low regard?

Answer: They do now!
