VIDEO and LETTER- 'Anonymous' Group Threatens To "Erase" Stock Exchange From Internet On Monday

By Susan Duclos

The problem with belonging to a group of hackers that calls itself "Anonymous" is anyone can claim to be part of the group and according to one making such a claim, they state that they are going to "erase" the New York Stock Exchange from the Internet on Monday.

Videos below the quotes:

In one of the videos, which was addressed to the media, a narrator states, “We can no longer stay silent as the population is being exploited and forced to make sacrifices in the name of profit. We will show the world that we are true to our word. On October 10, NYSE shall be erased from the Internet ... expect a day that will never, ever, be forgotten.”

In a video addressed to the public, the narrator states, “We are the 99 percent. You have complained that something needs to be done. You now have an opportunity to make a difference. Join the protests. Organize your own. Watch online. Be a part of the movement.”

A digital flier has circulated online with the banner “Operation Invade Wall Street: This is not an occupation. This is an invasion,” and instructions how to participate in “three simple steps.”

Both videos were uploaded at YouTube by TheAnonMessage two days ago.

Fox News reports that another set of "Anonymous" members are denying association with the first group making the threats.

A second letter has been posted online, also with Anonymous on the masthead, that references rumors of the planned attack and disclaims the group’s association

To the ones participating in #InvadeWallstreet

Greetings Fellow Anons: As brothers and sisters, we have to look out for one another in times like these.

We have taken notice to a planned attack which has been named #InvadeWallStreet, which is to be held out on October 10 th.

We strongly advise against this action and everything it entails to.

Many of our brothers and sisters have gone down in the fight for using such tactics, like the wikileaks defendants who took down Visa, Paypal, and Mastercard which led to mass arrests.

We do not want history to repeat itself, and are sincerely worried.

Using such a tool such as LOIC to get your message across would deemed irresponsible and you would be signing your own ticket to jail.

Please change these tactics for this Op to spare our movement the loss and to spare OccupyWallstreet of the bad press.

Thank you and we hope we have made our point.

We are anonymous.

We are legion.

We do not forgive.

We do not forget.

Expect us.

Could be authorities were getting too close and the letter disassociating itself from the action was a way of saving face after making the claim to erase the Stock exchange from the Internet, or, the initial video was created and distributed by portion of the collective and the other portion doesn't agree.

Hell, I could come up with a dozen different theories of what is going on, but one thing I would bet the house on is that our government has bunch of alphabet agencies running around like chickens without a head working to prevent even the possibility of shutting down the Stock Exchange.

Question to ponder: If the FBI or whoever can trace back who put the original videos up, can they be charged with cyber terrorism?
