Wall Street Journal
with "Pressure Builds on Obama to Shake Up Inner Circle."

Some high-level Democrats are calling for President Barack Obama to remake his inner circle or even fire top advisers in response to what many party strategists expect to be a decisive defeat on Tuesday.

Washington Post with "Democrats bracing for major losses."

Voters headed to precincts across the country Tuesday to cast their ballots in the pivotal 2010 midterm elections, with Democrats bracing for major losses in both chambers of Congress but hoping to hang on to their Senate majority.

Boston Globe with "Results may shrink president's agenda."

President Obama will reduce the scope of his legislative ambitions if Republicans seize control of the House today as is widely predicted, jettisoning proposals to control greenhouse gases and overhaul immigration laws in favor of more modest efforts such as improving education and highways, according to lawmakers, former White House officials, and political analysts.

The Politico with "Spin cycle: What will top Dems say?"

The polls aren’t even open yet, and countless contests are too close to call, but we already know what’s going to happen Wednesday morning.

Top Democrats — President Barack Obama, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine and others — will take stock of the damage, then grudgingly make their way to the cameras and say ... something.

They’ll be expected to offer some explanation for their defeats — and indeed, Obama is expected to take questions from reporters before he heads overseas at week's end, Democrats tell POLITICO. And they’ll have to signal quickly whether they’re going to be basically combative or basically conciliatory toward a Congress that’s shifted to the right. The new strategy might not be fully apparent for weeks or even months, but the initial response will offer clues as to what to expect.

Even with big swaths of the political landscape still up for grabs, it’s possible to sketch out where the Democratic message might go next — toward one of these four broad options:

Those four options are; It was a thumping , Message received, on to 2012, Denial, evasion, symbolism and Bring it on .

Wall Street Journal with "Why Obama Is No Roosevelt."

Roosevelt: 'Your government has unmistakable confidence in your ability to hear the worst without flinching and losing heart.'

Obama: We don't 'always think clearly when we're scared.'

Beltway Confidential with "Crazed Democrats in Virginia attack opponents, throw signs."

If you thought negative campaign ads were a problem in this election, perhaps you haven’t spent enough time in Virginia’s 5th district. This video depicts two men unleashing a string of racial epithets at members of Americans for Prosperity, who took the video. While flailing arms and shouting, the two also start yanking signs off of private property and throwing them aside, while saying, “This is public space. I pay taxpayer dollars while y’all to spread racism and bigotry.” See for yourself:

Gallup with "Record Midterm Enthusiasm as Voters Head to Polls."

Americans' enthusiasm about voting exceeds the recent midterm election high set four years ago, with 50% of Americans and 53% of registered voters saying they are more enthusiastic than usual about voting in 2010.

Not going to bother with the [Update #1, 2] etc..... just going to add links as they come out.

Fox News with "Obama to Hold Post-election News Conference on Wednesday."

President Barack Obama will hold a postelection news conference
on Wednesday.

The White House said Tuesday that Obama will take reporters' questions Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the East Room.

It'll be the first chance for Obama to react to what are widely forecast to be major Democratic losses in the midterm elections, including the possible Republican capture of one or both houses of Congress.

NRO with "Harrah’s Bosses Put Squeeze on Employees to Vote in Pro-Reid Effort."

The Harrah’s employee who forwarded the emails asked not to be identified due to fear of reprisal. The employee said the pressure from upper management was “disturbing.”

“We were asked to talk to people individually to find out why they had not yet voted and to fill in these spreadsheets explaining why,” the employee said. “I did not feel comfortable doing that.”

“It put me in a very awkward position,” the employee added, saying the level of coordination between Harrah’s upper management, the culinary union, and the Reid campaign was “disgusting.”

Calls to Harrah’s management were not immediately returned. Jan Jones’ assistant said at 10:25 EST that she would attempt to track down an executive who could comment.

A spokesman with the Federal Election Commission declined to comment on the case, but encourages anyone who feels that an election-law violation has occurred to file a complaint with the commission. The rules governing communications between employers, labor bosses, and employees can be found here (pdf).

The Hill with "Cornyn: GOP would 'welcome' party switch by Joe Lieberman."

Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) said Senate Republicans would "welcome" any Democrats who wish to switch parties and caucus with the GOP.

Cornyn, the head of Senate Republicans' campaign efforts, floated the possibility that the GOP might target Sen. Joe Lieberman (Conn.), an Independent who caucuses with Democrats, or another Democratic senator if Republicans come close to winning a majority but fall short.

"I think he votes like a Republican on those areas, and we would certainly welcome him or any other Democrat who wants to switch sides of the aisle and caucus with us," Cornyn said of Lieberman during an Election Day appearance on Fox News.

Washington Wire with "Coons Camp Expresses Turnout Worries."

In a noon email alert to supporters, Coons campaign manager Christy Gleason said close monitoring of voter turnout in the state’s 41 representative districts showed “lower turnout in New Castle and Kent counties than we’re comfortable with.”

To win, Mr. Coons will have to get heavy support from Democrats and independents in New Castle, the state’s most populous county. In the primary, Ms. O’Donnell drew heavy support from the state’s other two counties, Kent and Sussex, which skew more to the right.

The American Spectator- "The End of Blaming Bush."

Today's election is more about America's Left and Right, than Democrats and Republicans. And the Left's worst blow from it will be its inability to blame Bush for it. This time, nothing stands between the left and the public's verdict. Tomorrow that verdict will be clear. And with it will go the tiresome posture in which somehow they could be present at problems without ever being responsible for them.

More will be added as the day progresses.
