More Divisions in the Democratic Party

Ever see those pictures on the news of other countries having actual fist fights as part of their parliamentary process?

The two factions get so frustrated and annoyed with each other than they come to physical blows?

(Ukraine)

Imagine if it wasn't the opposing party that was frustrating them to the point of wanting to physically bash them.

According to CQ the Democrats are fighting within and those arguments are getting quite hot.

Angry Hispanic Democrats Confront House Leaders

Tensions between Hispanic Democrats and House leaders exploded Friday when a bloc of Hispanic lawmakers voted to derail a major tax bill, relenting only after an angry confrontation on the floor with Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer, D-Md.

The rebellion was a response to votes by 36 Democrats Thursday night in favor of a non-binding Republican motion Hispanic members called offensive. It instructed House conferees on an appropriations bill to accept a Senate-passed provision prohibiting the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission from suing employers over certain English-speaking requirements.

That motion was the latest in a series of immigration- and language-related votes that Republicans have used to splinter Democrats, some of whom are nervous about GOP attack ads that could portray them as “soft” on illegal immigration.

Members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus said Thursday night’s vote was their breaking point. They retaliated by initially voting against the rule allowing debate of the tax bill, very nearly sinking the measure and prompting a fiery exchange on the floor.

Hoyer was toe-to-toe with the much shorter Joe Baca, D-Calif., chairman of the Hispanic caucus. According to one Hispanic Democrat, Hoyer jabbed his finger at Baca and yelled, “How dare you destroy this party? This will be the worst loss in 10 years.”

The Democratic party is splintering from within. Not only the Hispanics portion either.

Another good example is something I wrote abut recently on the tensions between the Blue dog democratic politicians and the liberal democratic politicians....serious tensions.

Pelosi has also had trouble with the Congressional Black Caucus members, over William Jefferson, first when she was the minority leader in 2006 where they almost openly revolted against her and then again in June of 2007.

These aren't isolated incidents either, we saw the beginnings of this when Pelosi tried to strongarm her way into having John Murtha as her second and right after voting her in as speaker, her own party went against her wishes to choose Steny Hoyer.

Right there people should have understood that the Democratic majority is made up of two very separate types of politicians and there was going to be trouble.

The Nancy Pelosi faction and the Blue Dog Democrats which are centrists.

Thats not their only problem though. Their supporters are also made up of people on opposite ends of many issues.

Their far left, liberal portion and the moderates.

We have shown how the far left liberals have called Nancy Pelosi weak, other far left liberal blogs have suggested that Harry Reid step down because he is weak and more of them have targeted what they call Bush Dog Democrats.

The politicians are splintering and their supporters are also and we are only 10 1/2 months into their majorities in the house and the senate.

One day we are going to turn on C Span to watch what they are up to and what we are going to see is this:

Pop corn anyone?
