BUSH VETOES SURRENDER BILL

In a speech I just watched, Bush vetoed the surrender bill and according to CNN the new bill is already in the works as we all knew it would be and have posted about previously.

As the search engine shows, everyone is announcing it.

USA Today, The Hill, ABC.

Yeah VETO POWER!!!!!!!

In only the second veto of his presidency, Bush rejected legislation that would require the first U.S. combat troops to be withdrawn from Iraq by Oct. 1 with a goal of a complete pullout six months later.

He vetoed the bill immediately upon his return to the White House from a visit to MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Fla., the headquarters of U.S. Central Command, which oversees military operations in the Middle East, including Iraq.

Unlike Pelosi and crew, President Bush did NOT make our troops wait for his veto and now the new bill is in the works, one everyone knows will carry no arbitrary timelines that tie the hands of our Commanders in the field!!!!!!!

[Update] AP is also reporting on it.

WASHINGTON -President Bush vetoed legislation to pull U.S. troops out of Iraq Tuesday night in a historic showdown with Congress over whether the unpopular and costly war should end or escalate.

In only the second veto of his presidency, Bush rejected legislation that would require the first U.S. combat troops to be withdrawn from Iraq by Oct. 1 with a goal of a complete pullout six months later.

"This is a prescription for chaos and confusion and we must not impose it on our troops," Bush said in a nationally broadcast statement from the White House. He said the bill would "mandate a rigid and artificial deadline" for troop pullouts, and "it makes no sense to tell the enemy when you plan to start withdrawing."

Now lets get back to fighting and winning the war on terror.

I will update this with reaction from the right and the whining from the left as they come out.

[Update] As promised two of the first reactions are one from the right at Blue Crab Boulevard and the lefts whiney, temper tantrum of a post from the left AmericaBlog.

[Update] Wapo weighs in.

Keep up with the reactions from the blogoshpere over at memeorandum because I am hungry and will be back as soon as possible to bring more reactions.

Okay, so I am admittedly going to do something with complete immaturity here but to Congress and the Senate, about their surrender bill that was just vetoed, THIS IS FOR YOU and the trolls that are having a temper tantrum because Congress and the Senate do not have the votes to override the veto:

Thats the ticket!!!!!!

AS PROMISED, more on the Veto and reactions to it can be found on my latest post here.
