It Isn't Over....... Texas Governor Rick Perry Calls Special Session to Begin July 1

After a 12-hr pro-abortion filibuster, then  protesters and chaos preventing the Texas legislature  from concluding their business and votes last night, Governor Rick Perry has just announced a Special Session of the Texas Legislature will begin at 2 p.m. Monday, July 1.

"I am calling the Legislature back into session because too much important work remains undone for the people of Texas. Through their duly elected representatives, the citizens of our state have made crystal clear their priorities for our great state. Texans value life and want to protect women and the unborn. Texans want a transportation system that keeps them moving. Texans want a court system that is fair and just. We will not allow the breakdown of decorum and decency to prevent us from doing what the people of this state hired us to do.

The special session will consider the following issues:

• Legislation relating to the regulation of abortion procedures, providers and facilities.
• Legislation relating to the funding of transportation infrastructure projects.
• Legislation relating to establishing a mandatory sentence of life with parole for a capital felony committed by a 17-year-old offender.

 So much for the premature celebrations by pro late-term abortion liberals, that thought the antics of protesters preventing a vote on banning abortions after 20 weeks, something a plurality of Americans, as well as a majority of Texans support, was the end of the issue. (H/T Hot Air)

Dr Like Kermit Gosnell:New Stunning Photos, Testimony Show Texas Abortionist Kills Babies Born Alive

With the conviction of Kermit Gosnell for murdering babies born alive after botched abortions, the spotlight turns to other abortionists performing late-term abortions and accused by former workers of killing babies after they are born alive.

Operation Rescue and Life Dynamics have released videos, witness accounts and photos, of Texas abortionist Douglas Karpen, showing practices similar and as gruesome as those Gosnell was convicted of.

The informants also say they witnessed Karpen routinely kill babies after they were born by puncturing the soft spot or impaling the stomach with a sharp instrument, twisting the head off, or puncturing the throat with his finger.

(Remember baby killer Kermit Gosnell is not an isolated, rare example of late-term abortionists, as Live Action's undercover investigative videos, four released so far, shows quite clearly.)

Late-term abortionist Kermit Gosnell has been found guilty of three out of four first degree murder counts for killing  babies A, C and D, after botched abortions, where testimony showed he snipped their spinal cords after birth.

Earlier the jury had come back saying they were hung on just two of the counts against Gosnell. The judge sent the jury back to deliberations and they finally reached a verdict in 250 plus counts.

Former Philadelphia abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell has been found guilty on three of four counts of first-degree murder involving the deaths of four babies.

He was also found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of former patient Karnamaya Mongar.

Gosnell will now face the death penalty in the sentencing phase.

The jury of seven women and five men weighed a total of 263 crimes against Gosnell with the most serious being four counts of first-degree murder.

 The Jury did not find Gosnell guilty on first or third degree murder charges on Baby E.

Previously Common Pleas Judge Jeffrey Minehart threw out for lack of evidence three of seven murder counts involving aborted fetuses.  Those three were babies C, F and G. That left the jury to consider charges involving the infants identified as Baby A, Baby C, Baby D and Baby E.

Gosnell faced hundreds of lesser charges, including employing a minor in his clinic and violating the state's 24-hour waiting period for abortions. He was also charged with performing abortions on women who were more than 24 weeks pregnant, which is illegal in the state. Gosnell's wife, a cosmetologist who helped perform the abortions, was among four of the clinic's employees who also pleaded guilty to several charges.

More from CNN: Gosnell was also found guilty of 21 counts of abortion of the unborn, 24 weeks or older.

After ten days of deliberation, the jury has informed the Judge in the Kermit Gosnell trial that they have reached verdicts in over 260 of the other charges but are hung on two counts. Gosnell is a late-term abortionist charged with murdering babies born alive after a botched abortion by "snipping" their spinal cords.

The jury deliberating in the capital murder trial against former Philadelphia abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell says they're hung on two counts.

The jury of seven women and five men are weighing more than 250 charges against the Gosnell with the most serious being four counts of first-degree murder.

It is currently unclear on which charges the jury is deadlocked, but the group told the court it has reached unanimous decisions on all other counts.

Around 10:00 a.m. Monday, the jury passed a note to Common Pleas Judge Jeffrey P. Minehart explaining their situation. The admission came on the 10th day of deliberations.

By law, according to attorneys for both sides, Judge Minehart is required to re-instruct the jury to deliberate on the two charges a second time and attempt to reach a verdict.

The jury now has three options: return to court with a question, request to re-examine evidence to try and break the deadlock or re-iterate they'll be unable to reach a consensus on the charges.

Gosnell faces four counts of first-degree murder for his alleged role in the deaths of four babies. Prosecutors allege Gosnell delivered the babies alive during abortion procedures and then snipped their spinal cords with scissors to end their life.

The 72-year-old is also charged with third-degree murder in the of former patient Karnamaya Mongar.

Mongar, 41, died after she was given a lethal dose of pain killers and anesthesia during a 2009 abortion procedure at Gosnell's West Philadelphia clinic, the Women's Medical Society.

The former doctor's defense attorney has argued Gosnell would inject a drug into his patients' uterus to stop the fetuses' hearts before they were delivered.

The majority of the 268 charges levied against Gosnell are related to alleged Pennsylvania abortion-law violations. Prosecutors say Gosnell regularly performed late-term abortions on babies older than 24 weeks -- the cutoff age in Pennsylvania.

[UPDATE] According to Criminal courts reporter for the Philadelphia Inquirer, Joseph A. Slobodzian, the judge can "declare mistrial on two and take verdicts on remaining 250+ counts.."

Fourth Video from Six-Month Undercover Investigation Reveals Illegal, Inhuman, and Gruesome Practices at Abortion Centers across the Country

Arlington, VA: Today, late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart is exposed, in the fourth Live Action Inhuman video, discussing the grisly details of the procedure and misleading a pregnant woman about dangers. The video also exposes Carhart’s bogus claims that “[a]ll the late abortions Carhart has done in Germantown have involved fetuses with anomalies[.]” He was perfectly willing to schedule a late-term abortion for a perfectly healthy pregnant woman and baby.

This is the fourth in a series of undercover videos, found at www.liveaction.org/inhuman, involving the illegal and inhuman practices of late-term abortion centers, as well as describing in horrific detail what happens to the mother and baby in a late-term abortion.

Live Action President Lila Rose said, “Dr. Carhart’s testimony is shocking and sickening. He compares a baby in the womb to ‘meat’ in a ‘slow cooker.’ He jokes about his abortion toolkit, complete with ‘pickaxe’ and ‘drill bit.’ Finally, he outright lies when he claims that his patient, Jennifer Morbelli, died of complications in her pregnancy rather than from his abortion.”

When a Live Action investigator, who is 26 weeks pregnant, asks about what happens to the baby during the procedure, Dr. Carhart responds:

Dr. Carhart: It gets soft – like, mushy – so you push it through.
Woman: So what makes the baby “mushy”?
Dr. Carhart: The fact that it’s not alive for 2 or 3 days.
Woman: Oh. So I’ll have a dead baby in me?
Dr. Carhart: For 3 days, yeah… It’s like putting meat in a crock pot, okay? … It gets softer. It doesn’t get infected or–
Woman: OK, so the dead baby in me is like meat in a crock pot.
Dr. Carhart: Pretty much, yeah … in a slow cooker.

Dr. Carhart tells an undercover Live Action investigator who is 22 weeks pregnant:

 We do a shot into the fetus to end the pregnancy the first day. … Well, if everything works right, you just deliver them and they come out fine. I mean, if for some reason that doesn’t happen, then we have to take them out in pieces…

A twenty-six-week pregnant Live Action investigator inquires what will happen in the case of complications:

Woman: But if we run into trouble … for some reason, I’m not able to deliver, you’ll be able to get it out in pieces.
Dr. Carhart: We’d take it out…
Woman: What do you use to break it up? Just–
Dr. Carhart: A whole bunch of–
Woman: You’ve got a toolkit.
Dr. Carhart: A pickaxe, a drill bit, yeah (laughs).

Carhart tells the Live Action investigator that one of his patients died of complications in the pregnancy rather than from the abortion:

We have had one woman die in the clinic, OK?… She was a lot farther along than you, but the coroner, it was reported to the coroner and everything, and they said, “yeah, she died again of complications with the pregnancy, but not from the abortion.” Everything from the abortion went fine.

It has since been confirmed that Jennifer Morbelli died due to complications in the abortion procedure performed by LeRoy Carhart.

“Our investigation reveals that the horrors of the abortion industry leaves devastated two victims: the mother and the child,” said Rose. “Our videos expose the truly gruesome, illegal, and inhuman practices going on inside many of America’s abortion centers. Unfortunately, this is just another day at the office for abortionists and their staff.”

Last week, Live Action released videos (www.liveaction.org/inhuman) of a Bronx, NY abortion counselor describing how a born-alive baby would be placed in a jar of toxic “solution” to ensure death, a D.C. doctor who would leave a baby born alive after a botched abortion to die, and a Phoenix, AZ clinic worker who “would not resuscitate” should a baby be born alive after a failed abortion. The videos are part of Live Action’s six-month undercover investigation shedding light on the illegal and inhuman practices of numerous abortion centers throughout the country.

Rose is calling for Attorney General Eric Holder and the U.S. Attorney’s office to investigate and prosecute those who admit they violate federal law. Rose also called on local health and law enforcement officials to investigate and put an end to gruesome practices that endanger women and children.

From the letter to General Holder: “[W]e have reasonable cause to consider LeRoy Carhart a grave threat to any woman or child to pass through his abortion facilities’ doors. … General Holder, as the United States’ foremost law enforcement officer, you have unparalleled resources at your disposal to protect the most vulnerable among us. I ask you to take the proper precautions as Attorney General to ensure that no one else is victimized by this man.”

Investigator: But if it does come out whole…I mean, are–will they resuscitate it? Like, will I have to take care of it?

Linda: Uh-uh… No…They do not resuscitate.

And as in earlier videos, the abortionist warns her patient about going to a hospital if she goes into labor:

No, call us first…if you showed up in an average emergency room with an emergency room physician who’s not a gynecologist, probably has never seen or done a termination, they will treat you as though you are somebody with a desired pregnancy…

Investigator: So they would basically like try to take care of it.

Dr. Mercer: Right they would intervene and do all kinds of crazy things that you don’t need to have done to you…

With the trial of Kermit Gosnell, charged with murdering babies A-G, born alive after a botched late term abortion or partial birth abortion, by "snipping" their necks, severing their spinal cords, as well as a charge of murder on a women that went to him for a  late term abortion, Live Action, has started publishing videos taken undercover at other late term abortion clinics.

Sunday I published a video where an abortion clinic workers told a women if her baby was born alive at home, to "flush it," or "put it in a bag," but not to take it to a hospital because a hospital would attempt to save the child.

Live Action's next video was of Washington D.C. doctor, Cesare Santangelo, stating that if a baby survived the abortion attempt, "we would not help it."

“I mean, technically, you know, legally, we would be obligated to help it, you know, to survive, but . . . it probably wouldn’t,” Santangelo is shown telling the woman, who was 24 weeks pregnant. “It’s all in how vigorously you do things to help a fetus survive at this point.”

It took a concentrated  effort to force the media to actually cover the "House of Horrors", Gosnell trial, with some abortion supporters explaining why they didn't report on it and why they should have.

Example:  Megan McArdle at The Daily Beast:

But I understand why my readers suspect me, and other pro-choice mainstream journalists, of being selective—of not wanting to cover the story because it showcased the ugliest possibilities of abortion rights. The truth is that most of us tend to be less interested in sick-making stories—if the sick-making was done by "our side."  

 Carl M. Cannon attempts to explain the liberal mindset of people like Slate's William Saletan and journalists that completely ignored the Kermit Gosnell trial until they were forced to cover it. Cannon explains that abortion is "Journalism's Most Sacred Cow."

So I went on television and reluctantly criticized my own employer. Looking back, we were not wrong about the need for a newspaper to encourage the free flow of ideas. But on the issue of abortion, we quite wrong about which side really wanted to chill honest and open discussion. That was our real sacred cow.

No one ever put it quite this way, but the traditional media in this country were about to embark on an extraordinary exercise in self-censorship. It is a social experiment that has lasted up until this week, until our industry’s shame over a refusal to cover the Kermit Gosnell murder trial brought this issue to a crucible.

To liberals like William Saletan, the video above, and the one shown on Sunday, the Kermit Gosnell atrocities and murders, are the abortion industry and pro-abortion supporters' dirty little secret and anyone reporting on the exposure of that dirty little secret must be punished for doing so.

This isn't about the "abortion argument" and whether abortion is right or wrong.

This is about late term abortions and/or partial birth abortions that fail, where a breathing, moving, living baby is born and either murdering that child by severing the spinal cord in the case of Gosnell, or by refusing to provide medical attention and allowing that baby to suffer before dying.

Gosnell and the Live Action videos from multiple abortion clinics across the country, are not isolated cases as evidenced by a video explaining  the position of the largest abortion providers in the nation, Planned Parenthood, by Alisa Laport Snow, the lobbyist representing the Florida Alliance of Planned Parenthood Affiliate, of what should happen to babies born alive after a botched abortion:

So, um, it is just really hard for me to even ask you this question because I’m almost in disbelief," said Rep. Jim Boyd. "If a baby is born on a table as a result of a botched abortion, what would Planned Parenthood want to have happen to that child that is struggling for life?”

"We believe that any decision that's made should be left up to the woman, her family, and the physician," said Planned Parenthood lobbyist Snow.

Clinic Workers Describe Babies Born Alive

We had one saline [type of abortion] born alive. I raced to the nursery with it and put it in an incubator. I called the pediatrician to come right down, and he refused. He said, “That’s not a baby. That’s an abortion. (1)

One case where a baby was born in an abortion clinic and then killed by direct action of the abortionist came to light when clinic workers revealed what happened. According to Lime 5, a book by pro-life author Mark Crutcher:

According to five abortion clinic employees, Texas abortionist John Roe 109 [pseudonym] was performing an abortion when a 1 foot long infant girl with light brown hair was born. They testified that the baby curled up in Roe’s hand and attempted to breathe as Roe held the placenta over her face. He then dropped her into a bucket of water, and several employees testified that bubbles rose to the surface. They went on to say that Roe then “dropped the fetus into a plastic bag….The bag was tied and placed at the end of the operating room… [The] sides of the bag pulsated as though someone were breathing into it. Then the bag stopped moving.” One witness said he was holding the bag in which Roe placed the infant, and later put the bag in the freezer where aborted fetuses were stored. (3)

What Live Action is doing, is showing that Kermit Gosnell was not the exception, and that is the dirtiest little secret of all.

What happens, the young woman asks, if the baby is moving and breathing when it comes out?  No worries, says the abortion-clinic saleswoman — the toxic solution will make it “automatically stop.”  If the baby spontaneously delivers, she advises the mother to “Flush it!” Or, failing that, stick the baby in a plastic bag and bring him or her to the clinic for the toxic solution.  Don’t go to the hospital, she warns, because the hospital might actually try to save the baby.

Yesterday it was reported that the judge in the Kermit Gosnell murder trial threw out three of the eight murder charges against Gosnell. The charges of murder for Baby B,” “Baby C,” and “Baby G."

Gosnell is a late-term (Partial birth) abortionist on trial for murdering babies who survived his botched abortions.

Today, that same judge, common pleas court Judge Jeffrey Minehart, reinstated the murder charge against Gosnell for the death of "Baby C", saying he "errerd."

Life News:

Common pleas court Judge Jeffrey Minehart admitted he “erred” when dropping the murder charge for Baby C, who was killed in an abortion-infanticide when he was a victim of an attempted abortion but was born alive and tossed in a shoe box, with Gosnell staffers confirming they saw him breathing for 20 minutes.

Gosnell faces eight total murder counts — one for killing a woman in a botched abortion and seven for killing babies in abortion-infanticides that involved live-birth abortions and snipping their necks after birth. The judge received heavy criticism yesterday for dropping three of the murder charges.

Babies B and G will receive no justice, but at least there is a chance that babies A, C, D, E and F, can.

Today, the judge in the Kermit Gosnell murder trial threw out three of the eight murder charges against Gosnell. The charges of murder for Baby B,” “Baby C,” and “Baby G."

Gosnell is a late-term (Partial birth) abortionist on trial for murdering babies who survived his botched abortions.

Gosnell's defense attorney Jack McMahon, stated "If we are going in this room to say a baby is born alive because it moves one time without any other movement, that is ludicrous."

Although three of the murder charges were dismissed,  Gosnell still faces five other murder charges and other criminal charges in the case.

When investigators raided the clinic in February 2010, they sent the fetuses they discovered to the Philadelphia medical examiner’s office. The medical examiner concluded that two of them – aborted at 26 and 28 weeks – were viable, and another, aborted at 22 weeks, was possibly viable. The 28-week fetus, a male (Baby Boy B) had a surgical incision on the back of the neck, which penetrated the first and second vertebrae.The 22-week fetus, female, had a similar incision.

Baby C:

When Massof left the clinic in 2008, Lynda Williams took over the job of cutting baby’s necks when Gosnell was not there.Cross saw Williams slit the neck of a baby (“Baby C”) who had been moving and breathing for approximately twenty minutes. Gosnell had delivered the baby and put it on a counter while he suctioned the placenta from the mother. Williams called Cross over to look at the baby because it was breathing and moving its arms when Williams pulled on them. After playing with the baby, Williams slit its neck.

Baby G:

Steven Massof also testified about the killing of a baby whom he observed breathing. We refer to this baby as “Baby G.” Massof said that he was again helping Gosnell in the large procedure room when he saw the fully expelled baby exhibit what he called “a respiratory excursion,” meaning a breath. According to Massof, Gosnell then “snipped the cervical part of the vertebra.”

 They may get no justice, but as I have said before, they will be remembered.

Kermit Gosnell Is Not An Isolated Case As Florida Abortionist License Suspended For 5th Time Highlights

Kermit Gosnell, the man accused of murdering living babies by severing their spinal cords once born alive and breathing after a botched abortion, where descriptions of the crimes he is charged with are brutal and heartbreaking, is not an isolated case, as the fifth suspension of James Scott Pendergraft, IV, a Florida abortionist, highlights another abortionist with a sordid history.

This is the fifth time that Pendergraft’s medical license has been suspended by the Florida Board of Medicine. He continues to operate five abortion clinics in Florida, primarily in the Orlando area.

The fines resulted from a 2010 case where Pendergraft was heavily fined and placed on suspension related to a 2006 botched elective 19-week abortion.

Patient S.B went to Pendergraft for the second trimester abortion on Feb. 3, 2006. He prescribed doses of Cytotec, a drug that is known to cause severe and unpredictable uterine contractions and sent her home for three days to take the medication on her own. Pendergraft did not have a valid DEA number at the time.

When S.B. returned to the clinic, he further illegally administered doses of Cytotec, Demerol, and Phenergan. He attempted the abortion before the patient was adequately dilated, lacerating her cervix and sending her to the hospital where she underwent an emergency hysterectomy.

At the hospital, staff delivered the remains of S.B.’s baby and found that it was missing a lower limb. Efforts were made to locate the limb in the abdominal cavity to no avail. There were no indications on the patient’s chart. Later, it was discovered that the limb had been removed at the clinic. This lack of documentation caused issues in providing the patient with proper emergency care.

Pendergraft has a long history of abortion abuses. An Operation Rescue undercover investigation discovered that he was working illegally in Maryland with another abortionist Harold O. Alexander, to offer late-term abortions while his license was under suspension in Florida and filed complaints. Alexander was later disciplined for destroying patient records related to his business with Pendergraft, closing down Pendergraft’s Maryland operation.

In 2011, Pendergraft was hit with a whopping civil medical malpractice judgment of $36,737,660.16 in compensatory and punitive damages in a case involving a botched 20 week abortion that resulted in the live birth of a child physically damaged by Pendergraft’s incompetent abortion process amid what was described as “third world conditions” with virtually no counseling.

Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue states " Pendergraft is a prime example of how an abortionist operating outside the law in a manner that is reminiscent of the Kermit Gosnell murder case. He is proof that Gosnell is not an outlier, but is a snapshot of degenerate nature of the abortion cartel in America today." He continues "Pendergraft belongs in prison just as much as Kermit Gosnell, but the reticence of the Board to revoke his license means he will be back to wrecking more havoc on women. People wonder how Gosnell continues to operate for so long, but the Pendergraft case explains it. Oversight agencies are just too slow to revoke abortion offenders."

When senseless murders or mass murders occur across the country, parents mourn, towns hold memorials, victims receive funerals.

Those aware of the atrocities committed by Kermit Gosnell, who is on trial now, charged with delivering living late term babies after botching the abortions, then murdering those babies after they are born, are starting to see more and more reports and coverage.

We have discussed the media's lack of reporting, have discussed the Grand Jury report, the excuses, justifications and explanations from media outlets on their lack of coverage, the lack of inspections and regulations on abortion clinics like Gosnell's "Women's Medical Society."

What we haven't seen is any type of a memorial for those murdered infants, a nation mourning them as they did the victims of Sandy Hook.  The Sandy Hook victims had names, parents that loved them, and a nation that mourned.

After the murders at Sandy Hook, Barack Obama stood up and declared something had to be done, then subsequently demanded gun laws, gun control, a national conversation. The only mention of the of Gosnell's victims came from White House spokesperson Jay Carney, calling the trial "unsettling," and declared the White House “does not and cannot take a position on an ongoing trial,” Carney said, in the administration's first statements on the issue.

Gosnell's victims didn't have names.Witness accounts tell of potentially hundreds of Gosnell victims, but the trial and Grand Jury report only discuss, in detail, 7 of them who are simply referred to as "Baby A-G."

Meet Baby Boy A:

Eventually, she gave birth to a large baby boy. Cross estimated that the baby was 18 to 19 inches long. She said he was nearly the size of her own six pound, six ounce, newborn daughter.

After the baby was expelled, Cross noticed that he was breathing, though not for long. After about 10 to 20 seconds, while the mother was asleep, “the doctor just slit the neck,” said Cross. Gosnell put the boy’s body in a shoebox. Cross described the baby as so big that his feet and arms hung out over the sides of the container. Cross said that she saw the baby move after his neck was cut, and after the doctor placed it in the shoebox. Gosnell told her, “it’s the baby’s reflexes. It’s not really moving.”

The neonatologist testified that what Gosnell told his people was absolutely false. If a baby moves, it is alive. Equally troubling, it feels a “tremendous amount of pain” when its spinal cord is severed. So, the fact that Baby Boy A. continued to move after his spinal cord was cut with scissors means that he did not die instantly. Maybe the cord was not completely severed. In any case, his few moments of life were spent in excruciating pain.

Cross was not the only one startled by the size and maturity of Baby Boy A. Adrienne Moton and Ashley Baldwin, along with Cross, took photographs because they knew this was a baby that could and should have lived. Cross explained:

Q. Why did you all take a photograph of this baby?

A. Because it was big and it was wrong and we knew it. We knew something was wrong. * * *

I’m not sure who took the picture first, but when we seen this baby, it was – it was a shock to us because I never seen a baby that big that he had done. So it was – I knew something was wrong because everything, like you can see everything, the hair, eyes, everything. And I never seen for any other procedure that he did, I never seen any like that.

The neonatologist viewed a photograph of Baby Boy A. Based on the baby’s size, hairline, muscle mass, subcutaneous tissue, well-developed scrotum, and other characteristics, the doctor opined that the boy was at least 32 weeks, if not more, in gestational age.

Baby Boy A

Gosnell simply noted the baby boy’s size by joking, as he often did after delivering a large baby. According to Cross, the doctor said: “This baby is big enough to walk around with me or walk me to the bus stop.”

Baby C:

Baby D:

Kareema Cross testified that a woman had delivered this large baby into a toilet before Gosnell arrived at work for the night. Cross said that the baby was moving and looked like it was swimming. Moton reached into the toilet, got the baby out, and cut its neck.

Cross said the baby was between 10 and 15 inches long and had a head the size of a “big pancake.” Cross could not pinpoint the year that this happened, but testified that this killing occurred while Steven Massof was still working at the clinic. (Massof left in July 2008.) Moton herself admitted to Agent Huff that she had severed the spinal cords of living babies. According to her statement, Gosnell trained and instructed her to do this. The charts that the neonatology expert provided us indicate that the size of Baby D was consistent with viability.

Baby E:

“Baby E,” a baby that Ashley Baldwin heard crying before Gosnell killed it. Ashley testified that she heard the baby cry in the large procedure room, the one used for later-term abortions, and saw the baby moving. She said Lynda Williams summoned Dr. Gosnell, who then went into the procedure room where the baby was.

Kareema Cross testified that Ashley had called her over, and that she heard this baby “whine” once while Dr. Gosnell was alone in the procedure room with the baby. Ashley confirmed that Gosnell was the only person in the room with Baby E. When he came out of the room, the baby was dead. Gosnell put the baby’s remains in a waste bin. Ashley saw an incision in Baby’s E’s neck.

Baby F:

Massof testified that he was assisting Gosnell with an abortion when he saw the baby’s leg “jerk and move.” The neonatology expert testified about the significance of movement in determining gestational age, and explained that the muscle tone and neurological development for a baby to pull back a limb exist “definitely in the bigger preemies like above, you know, 25, 26, 27 weekers.” After Massof observed this movement of Baby F outside the mother’s womb, Gosnell severed the baby’s spine with scissors. We believe that the evidence supports charges of murder and conspiracy against Gosnell and Massof.

Baby G:

It is explained in the Grand Jury report why the Gosnell and his employees are not being tried for the murder of the other babies:

And these were not even the worst cases. Gosnell made little effort to hide his illegal abortion practice. But there were some, “the really big ones,” that even he was afraid to perform in front of others. These abortions were scheduled for Sundays, a day when the clinic was closed and none of the regular employees were present. Only one person was allowed to assist with these special cases – Gosnell’s wife. The files for these patients were not kept at the office; Gosnell took them home with him and disposed of them. We may never know the details of these cases. We do know, however, that, during the rest of the week, Gosnell routinely aborted and killed babi es in the sixth and seventh month of pregnancy. The Sunday babies must have been bigger still.

Anyone who has managed to read this far, if they have a beating heart in their chest and any compassion, will remember these babies, helpless to defend themselves, who were brutally and painfully murdered.

They deserve to be remembered and mourned for, just as any other murder victim is.

Washington Post Pro-Choice Writer Admits Reason For The Lack Of Coverage On Kermit Gosnell Trial

Ever since Kirsten Powers took to the pages of USA Today with a piece headlined "We've forgotten what belongs on Page One," writers from multiple news outlets have attempted to explain, excuse or justify now reporting on Kermit Gosnell:

Infant beheadings. Severed baby feet in jars. A child screaming after it was delivered alive during an abortion procedure. Haven't heard about these sickening accusations?

It's not your fault. Since the murder trial of Pennsylvania abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell began March 18, there has been precious little coverage of the case that should be on every news show and front page. The revolting revelations of Gosnell's former staff, who have been testifying to what they witnessed and did during late-term abortions, should shock anyone with a heart.

Melinda Hennebergeron writing for  the "She The People", Washington Post blog, hits the nail on the head as she explains the lack of significant national coverage on the Kermit Gosnell Abotion Clinic "House of Horrors."

But, why wasn’t more written sooner? One colleague viewed Gosnell’s alleged atrocities as a local crime story, though I can’t think of another mass murder, with hundreds of victims, that we ever saw that way. Another said it was just too lurid, though that didn’t keep us from covering Jeffrey Dahmer, or that aspiring cannibal at the NYPD.

Yet another said it’s because the rest of the country doesn’t care about Philadelphia — that one was especially creative, I thought. And a friend argued that any “blackout” boiled down to the usual lack of media interest in the low-income community Gosnell “served.” (While he routinely turned poor, black patients over to assistants who lacked even a high school education, according to court testimony, the white patients he seated separately, and treated himself.)

I say we didn’t write more because the only abortion story most outlets ever cover in the news pages is every single threat or perceived threat to abortion rights. In fact, that is so fixed a view of what constitutes coverage of that issue that it’s genuinely hard, I think, for many journalists to see a story outside that paradigm as news. That’s not so much a conscious decision as a reflex, but the effect is one-sided coverage.

That is it in a nutshell. Any pro-abortion story is newsworthy in the eyes of the media and anything else is hidden like a dirty little secret.

Kudos to Hennebergeron, who is pro-choice, for admitting that.

While many in the mainstream media are now vowing to cover the Kermit Gosnell trial, after being shamed into covering what is being called the most successful serial killer in history, Anderson Cooper did so last night.

Gosnell is an abortionist who was performing illegal partial birth abortions in Pennsylvania and is accused, in the Grand Jury report (embedded), of beheading babies born alive after  a botched abortion, keeping baby body parts as trophies, leaving body parts inside of women and charged in the death of patients, among other gruesomely horrifying and heartbreaking things.

Via AC360 at CNN- A grand jury investigation found that Pennsylvania health and licensing officials received reports about Dr. Kermit Gosnell's abortion clinic, but took no action. Anderson Cooper spoke with CNN Senior Legal Analyst Jeffrey Toobin, Philadelphia Inquirer reporter Joe Slobodzian and David Altrogge, who made a film about the sickening allegations against Gosnell.

There is no way to adequately describe what you will read below other than to say the descriptions of the activities of Kermit Gosnell and his staff, after performing illegal partial birth abortions, and allegedly severing the spinal cords of babies born alive, breathing and screaming, are heartbreaking, gruesome and not for the faint of heart.

The report is 281 pages and describe actions so monstrous, one would think the media would have paid a little attention, but they didn't, until now.

 If it bleeds it leads is a common mentality among journalists and media outlets, meaning the more violent or gruesome a story is, the better their ratings, the more ink is dedicated to the story.

Evidently there is an exception to that rule these days... because one of the most gruesome stories, the trial of abortionist Kermit Gosnell, is being basically ignored.

Democratic Kirsten Powers, writes over at USA Today, that "We've forgotten what belongs on Page One."

It's not your fault. Since the murder trial of Pennsylvania abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell began March 18, there has been precious little coverage of the case that should be on every news show and front page. The revolting revelations of Gosnell's former staff, who have been testifying to what they witnessed and did during late-term abortions, should shock anyone with a heart.

One witness swear that babies, older than the state's 24-week limit for abortions, were born after a botched abortion,  and were moving according to one witness, then were brutally killed?

But Williams ultimately stuck to Tuesday's testimony that she saw independent movement in the newborn whose spinal cord she had snipped with scissors and that what was going on at Gosnell's clinic was wrong.

That baby moved. That was not a spasm. It moved?" Assistant District Attorney Joanne Pescatore asked.

"Yes," Williams said.

Williams called it standard procedure to snip the neck of a fetus delivered after a woman took labor-inducing drugs but before the doctor could perform an abortion. She also said that premature deliveries in those circumstances increased significantly in the 15 months she worked for Gosnell.

Williams and seven other clinic employees have pleaded guilty to various charges. Williams, 44, of Wilmington, Del., has admitted to third-degree murder charges and conspiracy and faces up to 100 years in prison. Gosnell, 72, could face the death penalty if he is convicted. He is on trial with one of his employees, unlicensed doctor Eileen O'Neill, who is charged with theft for allegedly practicing medicine without a license.

A Lexis-Nexis search shows none of the news shows on the three major national television networks has mentioned the Gosnell trial in the last three months. The exception is when Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan hijacked a segment on Meet the Press meant to foment outrage over an anti-abortion rights law in some backward red state.

The Washington Post has not published original reporting on this during the trial and The New York Times saw fit to run one original story on A-17 on the trial's first day. They've been silent ever since, despite headline-worthy testimony.

Let me state the obvious. This should be front page news. When Rush Limbaugh attacked Sandra Fluke, there was non-stop media hysteria. The venerable NBC Nightly News' Brian Williams intoned, "A firestorm of outrage from women after a crude tirade from Rush Limbaugh," as he teased a segment on the brouhaha. Yet, accusations of babies having their heads severed — a major human rights story if there ever was one — doesn't make the cut.

You don't have to oppose abortion rights to find late-term abortion abhorrent or to find the Gosnell trial eminently newsworthy. This is not about being "pro-choice" or "pro-life." It's about basic human rights.

She is right, this isn't about abortion at all, this is about infanticide, killing living breathing babies, outside the womb.

If you're pro-choice, say, and you worry that the Gosnell story is being promoted only to weaken your cause, you really should read that grand jury report. "DOH could and should have closed down Gosnell’s clinic years before," write the investigators. Why wasn't it? Were state regulators nervous about igniting a political fight about abortion? Is the regulatory system incompetent or under-funded? And are there other states where the same could be said? Social conservatives are largely right about the Gosnell story. Maybe it's not a raw political story. It's just the story of a potential mass murderer who operated for decades as government regulators did nothing.

The video below is of testimony given by Alisa Laport Snow, the lobbyist representing the Florida Alliance of Planned Parenthood Affiliates, where she is clear that it is Planned Parenthood's position that if a baby survives a botched abortion, then the "woman, her family, and the physician," should then be able to decide whether that child struggling for life, should be given medical attention to save the living, breathing, child's life.

"So, um, it is just really hard for me to even ask you this question because I’m almost in disbelief," said Rep. Jim Boyd. "If a baby is born on a table as a result of a botched abortion, what would Planned Parenthood want to have happen to that child that is struggling for life?”

"We believe that any decision that's made should be left up to the woman, her family, and the physician," said Planned Parenthood lobbyist Snow.

Rep. Daniel Davis then asked Snow, "What happens in a situation where a baby is alive, breathing on a table, moving. What do your physicians do at that point?”

"I do not have that information," Snow replied. "I am not a physician, I am not an abortion provider. So I do not have that information.”

Rep. Jose Oliva followed up, asking the Planned Parenthood official, "You stated that a baby born alive on a table as a result of a botched abortion that that decision should be left to the doctor and the family. Is that what you’re saying?”

Again, Snow replied, “That decision should be between the patient and the health care provider.”

The ad revealed at tomorrow's press conference will be incorporated into the campaign. Previously, the Susan B. Anthony List's "Women Speak Out: Abortion is Not Health Care" bus tour travelled through Harrisonburg, Lynchburg, and Roanoke educating voters on President Obama's abortion record and urging voters to defeat him at the ballot box in November.

Recently released polling data from the SBA List shows that President Obama loses support from likely swing voters once they are educated on his extreme abortion record. A majority of swing voters (54%) are less likely to vote for President Obama after learning that he voted against a law to give equal treatment to babies born alive after a failed abortion (35% much less likely). Key voter groups were also negatively impacted including independents (46%) and pro-choicers (43%).

The Susan B. Anthony List, and its affiliated Political Action Committees, the SBA List Candidate Fund and Women Speak Out PAC, are dedicated to pursuing policies and electing candidates that will reduce and ultimately end abortion. To that end, the SBA List will emphasize the education, promotion, mobilization, and election of pro-life women. The SBA List is a network of more than 365,000 pro-life Americans nationwide.

On March 30, 2001, Barack Obama explained his opposition to "Born Alive" On the Illinois Senate floor. (Page 85 to 87 of PDF file)

In 2002, it was bill number 1662 and again Obama gave his verbal opposition on the floor of the Illinois Senate on April 4, 2002 (pages 31 to 34 of PDF file) and then he voted "no" the same day.

In 2003, it was bill 1082 and the Democrats had taken control of the Illinois Senate in 2002, so the bill was sent to the Health & Human Services Committee, which was chaired by Barack Obama.

In October of 2007, Obama voted against banning partial birth abortions.
