UFC Freedom 250 June 14, Nurses Day, National Day of Prayer May 17, FLOTUS Military Mother's Day, And More
By S.E. Gunn, PhD - All News PipelineOn May 6, 2026, President Trump hosted Mixed Martial Arts Champions Alex Pereira, Ilia Topuria, Justin Gaethje, and Ciryl Gane at a video conference in the Oval Office to announce the UFC Freedom 250 event that will be held on the front lawn of the White House starting at noon on June 14, 2026. These 4 gentlemen, and others, will be participating in the event. The event is produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Admission will be free to the events on the National Mall; however, (free) tickets (there are only 83,000 of them that will be made available) will be needed. The actual arena on White House South Lawn will have 4,000 seats (but it appears those seats will be reserved for military and other dignitaries). The event will be televised to large screens placed around the National Mall. It will also be live streamed.
On May 6, 2026, the White House published the Presidential Message on National Nurses Day paying tribute to these skilled women, and men, for their devotion to our health and well being. Our nation has an estimated 5 million nurses serving in a variety of venues from hospitals to long-term care facilities. From the beginning of life, through illness and recovery, to the end of life, they are there with us sharing the sorrows and joys as they tend to our needs in these situations. President Trump writes:
Despite long work hours, demanding schedules, and stressful life-and-death circumstances, nurses rise to every challenge with skill, precision, and pride, keeping their patients’ needs foremost in heart and mind. That dedication deserves to be met in kind, which is why my Administration is committed to standing behind our Nation’s nurses every day. Through the Working Families Tax Cuts Act and its elimination of taxes on overtime pay, we are helping nurses keep more of what they earn and build the financial security they have long deserved.
Nursing is a noble calling, a vocation worthy of our gratitude, respect, and admiration. On National Nurses Day, the First Lady joins me in honoring America’s nurses, whose steady hands and generous hearts sustain the health of our people and strengthen the vitality of our great Nation.
On May 6, 2026, the White House published the Presidential Message on National Day of Prayer honoring our enduring tradition of prayer, faith, and trust in Almighty God. President Trump writes:
And as we celebrate 250 glorious years of American independence, we pledge to never forget the countless blessings God has bestowed upon our people and our country.
From the cradles of civilization in the ancient world to the Christian empires of medieval Europe and the miraculous founding of our own Nation, the entire Western experience has been connected by a golden thread of devotion to God. America’s faith was seen most prominently during our struggle for independence, when the Second Continental Congress declared a day of “humiliation, fasting, and prayer” to seek God’s providence and ask for His protection and blessing in their fight for freedom, virtue, and posterity.
Just weeks later, armed with unshakable faith, the Colonies declared their independence from Great Britain on July 4, 1776, and paved the way for freedom’s ultimate victory five years later at Yorktown. In the years since, this proud birthright of faith moved our Nation to expand the promise of independence to the furthest reaches of our continent; preserve our Union in the midst of a bloody Civil War; abolish slavery; win two world wars; defeat the evil forces of atheistic communism; plant our Flag on the Moon; and advance truth, beauty, and goodness in our culture every single day.
Today, faith in God is resurging on American shores like never before. Throughout this historic year, we rejoice in the triumph of the American spirit and in the love and grace of Almighty God. And just as our Founders came together in prayer before declaring independence, thousands of Americans will gather on Sunday, May 17, on the National Mall to rededicate the United States as One Nation Under God.
This National Day of Prayer, we proudly recommit to our magnificent birthright of faith. I encourage all Americans to come together today in prayer, reflecting on the many blessings God has given our Nation and asking for His continued protection, with ceremonies, events, and programs in their houses of worship and places of work, schools, and homes. Above all, we pledge that America will always, as it is written in Psalm 96, “Tell His glory among the nations”—and that we will never forget God’s role in creating, protecting, and sustaining the freest, strongest, most prosperous, and greatest country the world has ever known.
Both the House and the Senate are ignoring the will of the people. Therefore, they are NOT working for We The People, they are working for everyone else, doing the will of pundits, criminals, illegals, etc. The results of primary elections in Indiana gives us hope. They primaried every RINO who voted against the will of the people. We need to primary EVERY member of the US Congress currently up for reelection who is NOT doing the will of the People. We want laws, such as the SAVE America Act, and other election reforms to ensure ONLY US Citizens vote in our US Elections, to be passed. Remember how Congress decided to go on vacation while all the things We The People want to have passed remain on the back burner in November when you go to the polls!
The SENATE is on vacation - next pro forma session is 10am on May 7, 2026 when they will most likely extend their vacation.
The HOUSE is on vacation - next pro forma session is 9am on May 7, 2026 when they will most likely extend their vacation.

On May 2, 2026, the Office of the First Lady published the statement First Lady Melania Trump Honors Military Mothers, the Soul of our Nation honoring military mothers for their boundless love, quiet power, and unwavering commitment to both family and country. She also honored fallen Operation Epic Fury Service Members from the 103rd Sustainment Command at Port Shuaiba, Kuwait, who were killed on March 1, 2026. The President and First Lady are ardent supporters of our military and their families. After her speech, she called upon the President to speak as the US Armed Forces Commander in Chief, who said he never forgets that every US Service Member is someone's child. Mothers from all 6 branches of the US Military were represented, both active duty and military dependents. Here is a transcript of the First Lady's speech:
I would like to extend a very warm welcome to our Vice President, JD Vance, and his wife, Usha Vance. It is a pleasure to be joined today by Secretary McMahon and Mrs. Hegseth. I am also honored to welcome Mrs. Melody Wolfe and Lorraine Hoak today. And, to my Chief of Staff, Hayley Harrison, who is preparing to welcome her second child into the world. Hayley, you are a wonderful mother, and I wish you and your growing family all great things.
I often think about the brave people who make the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. When I went to honor the fallen Service Members from the 103rd Sustainment Command at Dover Air Force Base last March, I realized that words cannot comfort the all-consuming grief that family members, and mothers in particular, experience. Their loss is overwhelming. Although I understand the deep pride these families feel in their loved ones’ service to our great republic, I cannot fathom the depths of their sorrow.
A mother is awestruck when she welcomes her child into the world. After nine months, the miracle of life creates a fascinating bond between mother and child. With each breath, day by day, this bond deepens, bringing forth emotions never felt before. Quite frankly, these are emotions understood only by women. Only a mother can carry this type of powerful connection with her child, which is also too profound for words.
This is a time of military conflict for America. And whereby we honor our selfless and valiant Service Members regularly, today is the day we hold their mothers in the highest regard. It is these military mothers who find themselves alone, awake in their thoughts, in the darkest hours of the night. Of course, we must also remember the mothers with a spouse overseas, praying for a safe return so their family can become whole once again.
At the very heart of America’s strength lies the boundless love and quiet power of mothers. We are the most devoted teachers—gently nurturing empathy, inspiring dreams, and guiding our children towards goodness. We help them rise with courage when life grows difficult. In every hug, every story read at bedtime, and every sacrifice made without complaint, mothers build the moral foundation of our families.
In doing so, America’s mothers help build the soul of our nation. I pray you find enduring strength as your loved one serves in defense of our freedom. Most know my husband as the strong Commander in Chief, but his empathy transcends the role and shapes a caring leader who constantly remembers each and every American soldier is someone’s child. Distinguished guests, please join me with a warm welcome for our President, Donald J. Trump.
