Dr. Ben Carson: US Like Nazi Germany And PC-ism Stifling The Debate

By Susan Duclos - All News PipeLine

Dr. Ben Carson, world renowned surgeon and Professor Emeritus at John Hopkins as well as a possible 2016 presidential candidate, schools CNN's Wolf Blitzer on how the United States is becoming more and more like Nazi, Germany and then goes on to point out that Blitzer's own reaction to that comparison is exactly what is wrong and why the US is indeed becoming the embodiment of everything the nation has fought against in the past.

The clip of this discussion below is a must-see segment because it encompasses everything Carson is trying to explain and it is done so with the very questions that Blitzer is asking, and highlighting how Blitzer is following the typical "PC-ism," following the MSM script of ignoring the message and focusing on the "words that must never be said."

Carson's first point is that Barack Obama has been using the tools of the government to "punish" and "intimidate" the population, much like Hitler's regime did in Nazi, Germany, but Carson takes it from there and explains quite concisely why the focus on the politically incorrect terms rather than addressing the message of government intimidation, is even more damaging.

Key quotes from Carson below, but readers are encouraged to watch the entire clip.

“See, what you were doing is allowing words to affect you more than listening to what was actually being said,” Carson insisted. “Nazi Germany experienced something horrible. The people in Nazi Germany largely did not believe in what Hitler was doing, but did they say anything? Of course not. They kept their mouths shut.”

“The fact that our government is using instruments of government like the IRS to punish its opponents, this is not the kind of thing, as far as I’m concerned, that is a Democrat or Republican issue. This is an American issue. This is an issue that threatens all of our liberty, all or our freedom.”

Blitzer, however, wasn’t satisfied: “But to make the comparison, Dr. Carson, to Nazi Germany, the slaughter of six million Jews by the Nazis, the devastation that erupted in Europe and around the world to the United States of America, I want you to reflect on what that means.”

“Well, again, you are just focusing on the words Nazi Germany and completely missing the point,” Carson replied. “And that’s the problem right now, that’s what PC-ism is all about: You may not say this word regardless of what your point is because if you say that word, you know, I go into a tizzy. We can do better than that.”

It is this type of openness and refusal to conform to the "PC Police" that has made Carson so popular, where he doesn't backtrack because they insist he cannot say certain words or make certain comparisons, but instead uses that very insistence to hammer home his point.

The video uploader of the CNN clip below, titles it with the claim that Carson "bizarrely" attacks CNN, but this writer completely disagrees.... not only was it not bizarre, but I would argue he made his point brilliantly, or to rephrase, Blitzer made the point for him!
