Heritage points out that Barack Obama's focus on immigration reform makes for a nice distraction from the scandals rocking the White House, from Benghazi to the IRS to the phone records of journalists and everyday Americans and now the recently disclosure about the secret NSA surveillance program named Prism.
Obama called immigration reform “an issue that the vast majority of Americans want addressed.”
Meh, not so much according to every poll conducted on what Americans see as a priority.
CBS/New York Times, Quinnipiac, CNN/ORC, Bloomberg, etc.... all show Americans have bigger issues they want to see addressed.
Polls have also consistently shown that when discussing immigration reform, their first priority on the issue is border control, securing the border to prevent the flow of illegal immigrants from sneaking into the country.
Despite claims to the contrary from the "gang of 8," democrats in Congress and Barack Obama, the immigration reform bill does not assure a secure border before offering over 11 million illegals amnesty.
Claiming that a vast majority of Americans want to see immigration reform addressed is just another Obama lie, then again, it is about the only thing happening in Congress at the moment that isn't tied to some massive Obama administration scandal, so it is easy to see why Obama would attempt to distract the public any chance he gets to do so.
