Real Clear Politics Electoral Map Shows Romney 206, Obama 201 And Toss-ups 131

By Susan Duclos

Due to recent changes in the Real Clear Politics Electoral Map, Mitt Romney now leads Barack Obama by 206 leans/likely and solid, to 201 leans/likely and solid, with 131 Electoral votes marked as toss ups.

The big change over previous RCP maps has been North Carolina being moved from the toss column to the leans Romney column. Poll averages show Romney ahead in NC by 5.6 percent. NC holds 15 electoral votes.

In related news, Gallup now has Romney up by 7 percent over Obama, 52 to 45 (yesterday it was 6 percent) among likely voters.

Note- RCP does allow the option of creating your own map, but the map above is the one they show without any changes made by me.

[Update] Rasmussen's Daily Presidential Tracking poll has been released as well and Romney is leading Obama:

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows Mitt Romney attracting support from 49% of voters nationwide, while President Obama earns the vote from 47%. Two percent (2%) prefer some other candidate, and another two percent (2%) are undecided. See daily tracking history.

Obama is getting 85% of the vote from Democrats, while Romney is supported by 87% of Republicans. Among voters not affiliated with either major party, the GOP challenger has a nine-point advantage.

The president leads by four among women, while Romney is up by 10 among men.
