Only cowards would target children in a war and that is exactly what a group called "American Atheists," is doing, specifically targeting children in a new billboard campaign with an image of a child writing to Santa saying "All I want for Christmas is to skip church," because she is "too old for fairy tales."
The groups claim is that the "billboards are aimed at in-the-closet atheists who are pressured to observe religious traditions during the holidays," but they specifically, deliberately, launched this campaign in "multiple Bible Belt cities," including Memphis, Nashville, St. Louis and Fort Smith.
“Even children know churches spew absurdity, which is why they don’t want to attend services. Enjoy the time with your family and friends instead,” said American Atheists President David Silverman.
BY WHAT RIGHT does anyone have to go into religious communities and target children in order to convince them to go against what their own parents are teaching them? Atheists have the right to believe or not believe anything they choose, but they DO NOT have the right to shove those beliefs down other people's children's throats.
There is an all-out war happening right now, attacks against those of religion, a spiritual battle to remove God from those of faith. We are seeing it happen all across the globe in one form or another, but people need to understand that it is right here, at their front door.
Your beliefs are your own and unless those beliefs are being used to harm or kill innocents, they should not be attacked and what you teach your children is your right, your responsibility and no one has the right to interfere.
