California To Release Nearly 10,000 Prisoners After Supreme Court Ruling (Video)

By Susan Duclos

RT reports-  On Friday, the Supreme Court ruled that the state of California must release nearly 10,000 prisoners due to the facilities being overcrowded. The Golden State was hoping to get an extension on an order issued by the Justice's more than two years ago to reduce the population, but keeping the jails beyond capacity is a violation of the Eighth Amendment which forbids cruel and unusual punishment. RT's Ramon Galindo has more from Los Angeles to explain what this ruling means for the state.
