A Black Teen, Hispanic Teen And A Little 5 year-Old White Girl (Video)

By Susan Duclos

Amidst the Zimmerman trial, the not guilty verdict, and subsequent Trayvon protests, where racial divisions were highlighted across the country, another very different story got lost in the chaos.

A little 5 year-old white girl, Jocelyn Rojas, was abducted from her grandmother's front yard in Lancaster Township and after being informed of the kidnapping by the police, a group of teenagers took to their bicycles and started cruising the neighborhood to help.

A black teen by the name of Temar Boggs and his Hispanic friend, Chris Garcia, spotted a car with a white haired man and little Jocelyn in it.

According to the video below, for 15 minutes they peddled their bikes after that car Boggs describes what happened next by saying "As soon as the guy noticed we were chasing him, he stopped at the end of the hill and let her out, and she ran to me and said that she needed her mom."

They took her to the police and the little girl is home where she belongs as the mother hails Boggs and Garcia as her heroes.

In journalism they say "if it bleeds, it leads," and feel-good stories generally do not get the traffic, do not bring in the money or receive the television viewers, but it is noteworthy that as the whole country was focused on racial divisions, this young black teen and his friend with a Hispanic last name, saved this little 5 year-old white girl.

Guess they didn't get the memo.
