Video - Speaker John Boehner on Fisal Cliff Negotiations With Obama: ' We're Nowhere. Period. Nowhere'

By Susan Duclos

House Majority Leader Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) sat down with Fox News Sunday's Chris Wallace where he said he was "flabbergasted" by the proposal President Barack Obama offered Congressional Republicans last week to resolve the fiscal cliff. Boehner said that the proposal was so unserious that it set negotiations back and, today, he says negotiations are "nowhere. Period. Nowhere."

“I was flabbergasted. I looked at him and said, ‘You can’t be serious,’ ” Boehner said . “I’ve just never seen anything like it. You know, we’ve got seven weeks between Election Day and the end of the year, and three of those weeks have been wasted with this nonsense.”

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) appeared on CBS News' Face The Nation on Sunday where he was asked to react to President Barack Obama's opening bid in the ongoing negotiations between the White House and Congressional Republicans to avoid going over the fiscal cliff in January. Graham's reaction to the bid was as concise as it was pessimistic: 'I think we're going over the cliff," Graham said.

PS- Quote of the Day: “Republicans want to continue the Bush tax cuts, and the extenders and the AMT [Alternative Minimum Tax] package . . .  it’s the president who’s threatening to raise taxes if he stamps his feet and doesn’t get his way."---- Click to see who said it.
