Obama Silent On 'Piss Christ' But Spends $70,000 U.S. Tax Payers Dollars Against Mohammed Clip

“Piss Christ,” once branded as a “deplorable, despicable display of vulgarity,” will be displayed at the Edward Tyler Nahem Gallery in Manhattan on Thursday. The artwork features a “photograph of the crucifix submerged in the artist’s urine.”

The artwork debuted in 1989 and was funded through prize money provided by the National Endowment for the Arts. The art gallery hosting the retrospective salute to Andres Serrano is privately owned.

Religious groups and some lawmakers have already started sounding off – and making comparisons to the controversy over a recent anti-Muslim film. The low budget movie “Innocence of Muslims” sparked violent and deadly clashes across the globe.

It also brought strong rebukes, condemnations and apologies from President Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and a host of administration officials.

Normally, free speech and freedom of expression advocates would not expect Obama or his administration to denounce the "Piss Christ" artwork, it falls under free speech no matter how crude, rude or offensives it is, but since Obama and all his merry band of puppets have made such a huge showing of denouncing the Mohammed movie clip that offended Muslims, then consistency  and basic respect for those who believe in Christ would say he must do the same .

Yet he hasn't.

Which brings us to the ABC News article showing that Obama has now spent $70,000 U.S. tax payer dollars to create ads shown in Pakistan condemning the Mohammed movie trailer "Innocence of Muslims."

U.S. Embassy advertisements condemning an anti-Islam video appeared on Pakistani television on Thursday in an attempt to undercut anger against the United States, where the film was produced. Hundreds of youths, however, clashed with security officials as they tried in vain to reach the embassy in Islamabad amid outrage in many countries over the film's vulgar depiction of the Prophet Muhammad.

The ads reflected efforts by the U.S. government to distance itself from the video in a country where anti-American sentiment already runs high. Violence linked to the movie has left at least 30 people in seven countries dead, including the American ambassador to Libya. Two people have died in protests in Pakistan.

State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said the ad was produced by the embassy, which spent $70,000 to air the 30-second spot on seven Pakistani television stations. Pakistan is the only country where the ads are running. The embassy wanted to run the ads because it determined that the messages of Obama and Clinton were not reaching enough of the Pakistani public through regular news reporting, Nuland said.

Not only is Obama still bowing in submission to murderers, rioters and terrorists but now he is spending U.S. tax dollars to do so.

I was wrong in saying Obama needed to grow a pair, he has nothing there to grow.

[Update] Politicker headline "Congressman Calls Obama Out for Defending Muhammad, But Not Jesus."

Congressman Michael Grimm statement below:

“The Obama administration’s hypocrisy and utter lack of respect for the religious beliefs of Americans has reached an all-time high.  Our own government has just launched on-air ads in Pakistan apologizing for the anti-Islam video that has sparked unrest throughout the region.  Earlier, they asked YouTube to take down the trailer to the controversial film, a request which was denied.

“Now as the controversial ‘Piss Christ’ art exhibit makes its return to NYC, the administration remains silent.  Perhaps they’ve forgotten the controversy that surrounded this deplorable piece depicting a crucifix submerged in the artist’s urine. It outraged Christians in America and throughout the world as the touring exhibit was met with protests and acts of vandalism.

“As a Catholic, I find ‘Piss Christ’ to be vulgar and offensive, just as many in the Islamic world found ‘Innocence of Muslims’ to be highly offensive.  Like most Americans, I condemn both yet remain tolerant as the First Amendment demands. Unfortunately, this administration has yet to echo these views in regards to the religiously offensive ‘art’ here at home.

“While I believe that we must walk a fine line in regards to free speech, this administration is clearly taking an a la carte approach. In picking winners and losers, it has turned its back on the American people to apologize to the very nations that allowed our embassies to be stormed and our flags to be burned.   I call on President Obama to stand up for America’s values and beliefs, and denounce the ‘Piss Christ’ that has offended Christians at home and abroad.  It’s time this president stops apologizing for America and starts leading it.

[Update] With all the aid the U.S. gives to Pakistan, one would think they would condemn the violence right? Right???

Wrong.

US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton met on Friday with Pakistan's foreign minister, who avoided an invitation to explicitly condemn the violence.

Speaking to reporters ahead of the meeting, Clinton called on "leaders and responsible people everywhere to stand up and speak out against violence".

Standing beside her, Pakistani Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar focused her comments entirely on the film, which Muslims believe is blasphemous.

How did Obama's little submissive $70,000 U.S. tax dollar bow to terrorists work out for him?

Reports say at least 20 people have died as demonstrations against an anti-Islam video erupted across Pakistan, a day after protesters tried to storm the US embassy in the capital, Islamabad.

Tens of thousands of Pakistanis took to the streets across the country after the government called an impromptu public holiday to let people protest under the banner of "Love the Prophet Day".

Meh... not so good.
