Paul Ryan and his mother visited The Villages, Florida Saturday, August 18, 2012, and as Wall Street Journal explained yesterday, The Villages have more "people receiving Social Security benefits in ZIP Code 32162 than any other place in the U.S.."
And that’s exactly why Republican presumptive vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan is headed there with his mom on Saturday.Twitchy provides the money shot:
The area code, which is part of the sprawling The Villages retirement community in central Florida, had 31,860 residents receiving Social Security benefits at the end of 2010. Not only is that tops in the country, but its 12,000 more than any other ZIP Code in senior-rich Florida.
Instead of letting liberals define him as a "Medicare Killer' aka the "MediScare" tactics, Paul Ryan brought the fight directly to those targeted by Democrats and liberals.
Ryan is not scared of his plan to prevent Medicare from going completely bankrupt and he is more than capable of explaining it instead, and that is exactly what he went to Florida to do.
Oh... and about claims made by DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and liberal talking head Daily Kos Founder, Markos Moulitsas that Ryan was being kept away from Florida because "Seniors want nothing to do with him."
Ha ha ha, they're keeping Ryan as far away from Florida as possible. buzzfeed.com/zekejmiller/ry…#Medicare

Paul Ryan is notably absent here in Florida today. No wonder: Seniors want nothing to do with#RomneyRyanEconomics. twitter.com/DWStweets/stat…

The spectacular fail of those liberal claims and predictions, show in the tweets and photos from today.
"We want Paul! We want Paul!" some in crowd yell. Not too interested in current speaker

I've been ignoring politics for awhile but I just listened to Paul Ryan speak at the Villages. He's going to win a lot of senior voters.

Seniors are one of the most reliable voting demographics, they are also some of the best informed on the issues. The Romney/Ryan choice of going straight into the lion's den, so to speak, to explain the issue to them directly, treated them as the smart, informed adults they are instead of the mindless, uninformed, scared cattle the Democrats and liberals seem to think they are by believing MediScare would work.
TampaBay.com:
The seniors holding anti-Obamacare signs and sipping cocktails Saturday morning in the village square consistently said they applauded Ryan's talk about entitlement reform, and noted that it did not affect anyone 55 or over.
"As long as they explain it, they'll be fine," said Dave Hotchkiss, a retiree from Connecticut.
People like that Ryan doesn't mice words, he added.
"Everyone else doesn't face the issues. They just talk around them," he said.
People know Medicare has to be fixed, said his wife, Elise Hotchkiss. "It can't just continue as it is."
RCP has the video of the full speech up. I'll post the video when I find one to embed, (Found It) then will link to it here.
