Majority of Americans Think Obama And Surrogates Lying About Individual Mandate Tax

By Susan Duclos

Over the weekend, White House spokesman Jay Carney, White House Chief of Staff Jack Lew, Nancy Pelosi, Democratic Governor Deval Patrick and others began a media push to convince Americans that even though the Supreme Court legally defined the individual mandate as a tax to uphold the controversial mandate, it really wasn't a tax, according to the Democratic statements linked above.

Did their lies to the American people work?

FAIL

The Hill headlines with  "Poll: Majority views individual mandate as a tax."

A strong majority of Americans say the individual mandate is a tax, rather than a penalty or a fee, according to a CNN-ORC poll released on Monday.

Sixty percent said they view the individual mandate as a tax, versus 39 that said it’s not a tax.

Via CNN:

What about the individual mandate itself? Forty-eight percent favor it and 51% oppose the mandate. One thing that Americans do agree on is that the health insurance mandate is a tax, as ruled by the Supreme Court. Six in ten feel that way.

The American people are not as stupid as Democrats seem to think they are.
