Video- HEY WI. Unions, Remember When Obama Promised To 'Walk On That Picket Line' With You?

By Susan Duclos

Since there are a large number of headlines today focusing on Tuesday's recall election where unions and Democrats, failed to remove Governor Scott Walker after passage of his controversial budget reform which limited public unions abilities to collectively bargain, forced them to pay a little more than the pittance they were paying before, into their healthcare costs and pensions, it seemed appropriate to remind those public unions of a broken Barack Obama promise made to them when he was campaigning in 2007.

"And understand this: If American workers are being denied their right to organize and collectively bargain when I'm in the White House, I'll put on a comfortable pair of shoes myself, I'll will walk on that picket line with you as President of the United States of America. Because workers deserve to know that somebody is standing in their corner."

Actually Obama lied, he never walked with them in their picket lines or joined their protests physically back in 2010 when Scott Walker signed his budget reform bill.

When the recall failed Tuesday, June 5, 2012, Obama hadn't even shown up, he sent an email and one tweet out on Twitter.

Just a small sample of those headlines I mentioned today are below:

The Hill- "Obama frets after 'terrifying' recall vote"

MSNBC- "Obama on the defensive"

Ballot Box- "Rendell: Wisconsin recall a 'dumb political fight' for labor to pick"
