Zimmerman Family Letter Asking Why No Black Panther Arrests For 'Lynch Mob'

By Susan Duclos

After the events that led George Zimmerman shooting Trayvon Martin, the circumstances of which are still being investigated by police and no charges have been filed at this time, the New Black Panther's publicly offered a reward for the "capture" of George Zimmerman and created and passed out "Wanted: Dead or Alive" posters on Zimmerman.

This case has received much media attention, some reporting the facts and NBC News has been highlighted as deliberately editing Zimmerman's 911 call to make the shooting appear racially motivated, which has resulted in a "season producer" being fired.

Politicians, Obama and others have publicly convicted Zimmerman before the police have finished their investigation while Zimmerman and his family have been threatened just as publicly.

Over the weekend a call was recorded where the New Black Panthers have said it planned to get "suited, booted, and armed up for this race war."

LISTEN BELOW

The Blaze provides the transcript of the call.

The start of the call with the words of Michelle Williams and Chawn Kweli, the New Black Panther’s chief of staff in Tampa and a national spokesman, respectively, clearly show the nature of their intent to incite racial violence.

Williams: I just want to say to all the listeners on this phone call, that if you are having any doubt about getting suited, booted, and armed up for this race war that we’re in that has never ended, let me tell you somethin…the thing that’s about to happen these honkies, these crackers, these pigs, these people, these motherf*er…it has been long overdue.”

Kweli: “Ya, what she said was right– we got to suit up and boot up…and get prepared for the war that we’re in…this stuff got to boil over, and all your great’s talked about that happened to be bloodshed involved with revolution- true revolution means some bloodshed, so there‘s blood being spilled because there’s a new life that is beyond this bloodshed. There is a new reality that is built upon your original African principles and spiritualities and values and norms that is beyond this bloodshed. But we gotta go do it.

“And as the Scripture said, you gotta to cross it. We gon’ have to cross the Red Sea….I know y’all thought it was talking about some sea in some Middle Eastern part of the world- hell no. We’re talking about some blood. You’re gonna have to cross some blood, and go through some blood and some battles.

“And there are those who wish they could stand in this hour, to see the destruction of the devil‘s world and the devil’s society- and I‘m ain’t talking about no dude underneath the ground with a pitchfork and pantyhose. I’m talking about that blonde haired, blue-eyed, sometimes brown-eyed, Caucasian walkin around with a mindset, a demonistic mindset, and a nature to do evil and brutality.”

Eric Holder has been silent and no arrests, no investigation has been announced, into the actions of the New Black Panther lynch mob, even weeks after that first reward was publicly offered by the hate group and those Wanted: Dead or Alive posters were circulated.

A member of Zimmerman's family has written a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder on Monday, which The Daily Caller obtained, asking why no action has been taken against the New Black Panthers for the hate crimes they have overtly and publicly committed by inciting racial violence.

The letter is below:

April 9, 2012
Mr Eric Holder, US Attorney General
US Department of Justice
950 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW
Washington, DC 20530-0001
Subject: George Zimmerman and Racism
Dear Mr. Holder,

I realize that you are no doubt aware of the events that took place on February 26, 2012 in Sanford, Florida. While the facts of the case have not been made public yet, many in the black community have formed what many are calling a “lynch mob” against George Zimmerman. The rhetoric from the black community has ranged from benign to incredibly violent. Among those that have interjected themselves include Congressmen (and women), the Congressional Black Caucus, The NAACP, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Spike Lee, President Barack Obama, and the most violent, the New Black Panthers. Many of the above mentioned groups (or persons) that are commenting on the tragic events of that February night no doubt understand the laws of our great nation. What ever happened to INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY and DUE PROCESS?

Even though many feel that great strides have been made in race relations (we do have a black President), situations such as this make me wonder if that is indeed the case. There is the appearance of racism in every way this has been handled and it is not coming from the supporters of George Zimmerman.

While the rush to judgment against George has included considerable conjecture, insinuations, and innuendo from the black community, they know little of him. When the DOJ concludes its investigation regarding civil rights violations in this case there is no doubt that you will determine that the only person that has had their civil rights violated is George Zimmerman. George has done more for the black community than a lot of the black individuals/organizations that are calling for his arrest (or death). While you have never met George I can tell you that racism is the last bastion of thought for him. It is not in his vocabulary or in his conduct as an American citizen.

I am not writing this letter to discuss the intricacies of the case because, as you know, the investigation by the Florida Attorney General is not complete. I am writing you to ask you why, when the law of the land is crystal clear, is your office not arresting the New Black Panthers for hate crimes? The Zimmerman family is in hiding because of the threats that have been made against us, yet the DOJ has maintained an eerie silence on this matter. These threats are very public. If you haven’t been paying attention just do a Google search and you will find plenty. Since when can a group of people in the United States put a bounty on someone’s head, circulate Wanted posters publicly, and still be walking the streets? Many people that I know (and many that I don’t) believe that racism is the only reason that this group has not been rounded up yet. Again, we are not talking about racism on the side of George Zimmerman. There is no possible explanation for why this is not the case. The entire world has seen these threats and we can all only assume that your office has as well.

Below is an excerpt of the DOJ’s definition of a hate crime:

Hate crime is the violence of intolerance and bigotry, intended to hurt and intimidate someone because of their race, ethnicity, national origin, religious, sexual orientation, or disability. The purveyors of hate use explosives, arson, weapons, vandalism, physical violence, and verbal threats of violence to instill fear in their victims, leaving them vulnerable to more attacks and feeling alienated, helpless, suspicious and fearful. Others may become frustrated and angry if they believe the local government and other groups in the community will not protect them. When perpetrators of hate are not prosecuted as criminals and their acts not publicly condemned, their crimes can weaken even those communities with the healthiest race relations

When the DOJ/FBI and the FDLE have completed their investigations, one of two things will happen. George will be sentenced and go to prison or he will be cleared and he will attempt to live a normal life. The latter will be impossible because he has been tried and convicted in the court of public opinion and he will live his life looking over his shoulder wondering when he will be attacked by the lynch mob. Based solely upon your office’s definition of a hate crime, which states “Others may become frustrated and angry if they believe the local government and other groups in the community will not protect them” is exactly the way we feel now. Further, the last sentence reads “When perpetrators of hate are not prosecuted as criminals and their acts not publicly condemned, their crimes can weaken even those communities with the healthiest race relations”. I would surmise that, based on your own definition of a hate crime, you have chosen not to arrest these individuals based solely on your race. There is no other explanation. This group has been videotaped in the past conducting voter intimidation and your office chose not to arrest them then either. What message does that send to the rest of the world and to the citizens of this great country? It certainly does not sound like an administration that is trying to move on from race problems, it sounds like an administration that condones this type of behavior and only wants to further the race problem whatever reason.

The tragedy that occurred that night had NO racial component and there are many that are trying to use race as way make money and further their agenda. It is unfortunate that the Martins have been used by the black community and the race‐baiters to further the divides of racism and not use the opportunity to unite the country. The chasm between blacks and whites deepens every time these groups show up to further their own cause. Strangely enough this case has a lot of parallels to those of Harper Lee’s “To Kill a Mockingbird”. George Zimmerman has been treated much like Tom Robinson was, chastised for not being the right (or wrong) color and found guilty based on race factors. You have the opportunity to act as Atticus and do the right thing. Your boss would refer to this as a “teachable moment”.

I mean no disrespect to you or your office with this letter but there are many that are paying attention and are dumbfounded by the inaction in this matter. There is a letter that I sent to the NAACP regarding this issue which can be found at : http://dailycaller.com/2012/04/02/zimmerman‐family‐member‐callsnaacp‐ racists‐says‐there‐will‐be‐blood‐on‐your‐hands if‐george‐is‐hurt/ . This will explain to you the type of person that George Zimmerman is.

Respectfully,

A Concerned Zimmerman Family Member [Redacted]
