Video Flashback: Trump rips Romney as "a fund guy" who got "rid of jobs"

By Susan Duclos

Donald Trump endorsed Mitt Romney yesterday but Trump was not always a fan of Romney as the video below shows:

Description:

"Well, Mitt Romney is a basically small-business guy, if you really think about it," Trump said in an interview aired on CNN's "State of the Union." "He was a hedge fund. He was a fund guy. He walked away with some money from a very good company that he didn't create. He worked there. He didn't create it."

Trump went on to say this about Romney's business experience: "He'd buy companies, he'd close companies, he'd get rid of jobs, OK?

I built a big company."

Although Romney thanked Trump gracefully, the ABC News The Note shows why he might not appreciate this endorsement in the long run.

Why would Romney want Trump’s nod when it could be more likely to turn voters off than turn them on to Romney? A Fox News poll last month found that Americans were nearly three times as likely to say they’d be less apt rather than more apt to vote for a candidate Trump endorsed, 27 percent to 10 percent. Two-thirds said it would make no difference.

Ouch.
