Orbitz Refuses To Bow To Media Matters' "Smear" Campaign Against Fox News

Orbitz, an advertisers on Fox has basically just told Media Matters where they could shove their "smear effort" against Fox News with their DropFox campaign attempting to force advertisers to stop advertising on Fox News Channel.

“We have a strict policy of tolerance and non-discrimination, and that means we don’t favor one political side over another. Tolerance is a two-way street. We’re going to advertise on conservative TV stations, liberal TV stations and — if there are any out there — unbiased news broadcasts.”--Orbitz spokesman Brian Hoyt told The Hollywood Reporter

Hoyt also states "We haven't bowed to any boycott in the past, and we won't bow to these types of smear campaigns in the future."

Advertisers make money by advertising in places where the most people will see the ads, that is how they make money.

Looking at the consistent ratings of Fox News over MSNBC, CNN and Headline News, doubling the viewership of MSNC, almost tripling the audience of CNN and over 4 times the viewers of HLN, it is a no-brainer that advertisers would stick with Fox News Channel.

Media Matters seems to forget that companies are in business to make money, not lose it.

Media Matters' political smear campaign DropFox is also targeting Netflix, Best Western, Priceline, Delta Airlines, Ocean Spray and Southwest Airlines.

Next time you need to travel, think about using Orbitz as a thank you for not allowing themselves to be forced into jumping into a political battle or smear campaign perpetuated by Media Matters..
