Cook Projection: GOP Net Gain of 40 House Seats

Via Cook Political Report:

October 8, 2010
The Cook Political Report's current outlook is for a Republican net gain of at least 40 seats. A turnover of 39 seats would tip majority status into Republican hands. At this point, only 198 House seats are Solid, Likely or Lean Democratic, while 197 seats are Solid, Likely or Lean Republican, and 40 seats are in the Toss Up column.

39 would hand control of the House of Representatives over to the GOP, putting a stop to the rubber stamping of Obama's agenda by Pelosi's Democrats that we have seen since Obama took the presidency.
