Harry Reid, Nevada Senator, Doesn't Know Illegal Aliens Hold Constructions Jobs In His State

Nevada has one of the highest unemployment rates in the U.S., with 14 percent of legally eligible workers finding themselves unemployed.

According to the latest 2009 numbers, Nevada has the highest percentage of illegal aliens in the workforce.

According to Harry Reid, none of them work in construction.

8NewsNow:

"The reason: we need to do comprehensive immigration reform. We cannot do it piecemeal," said Reid.

"When you go to the unemployment office there's many U.S. citizens who are unemployed construction workers and they don't have jobs because right now, some of those construction companies find it easier to hire undocumented workers," said Reporter Nathan Baca.

"I think that any information you have in that regard is absolutely without foundation," responded Reid.

But a Pew Hispanic Center study shows 17-percent of all construction workers are in the United States illegally. Reid says not in Nevada. "That may be some place, but it's not here in Nevada."

But their latest 2009 numbers show Nevada is the state with the highest percentage of "unauthorized immigrants" in the labor force.

REMINDER of 2009 report from the Pew Hispanic Center, via Las Vegaus Sun:

Nevada tops the nation when it comes to the percentage of illegal immigrants in the workforce, according to a report issued today by the Pew Hispanic Center.

The Washington-based think tank estimates that 170,000 workers, or 12.2 percent of the state's total, are illegal immigrants. That is more than twice the national average, which is 5.4 percent. The top five were rounded out by California, Arizona, New Jersey and Florida. The figures are 2008 estimates.

Harry Reid is either too stupid to see what is going on in his own state or he is an out and out liar.

Either way, this is the man that claims the title "Senate Majority Leader" of our U.S. Senate.

Hopefully, come November, that will change.
