Sharron Angle Has 11 Point Polling Lead Over Harry Reid

Rasmussen:

Sharron Angle, following her come-from-behind Republican Primary win Tuesday, has bounced to an 11-point lead over Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in Nevada’s closely-watched U.S. Senate race.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in Nevada, taken Wednesday night, shows Angle earning 50% support while Reid picks up 39% of the vote. Five percent (5%) like some other candidate, and six percent (6%) are undecided.

An eleven point lead and Angle was Reid's preferred choice of challenger. Ouch!

Harry Reid has done such a horrible job as Senate Majority Leader that I am not so sure that a complete unknown wouldn't poll ahead of him.

November is still months away so watching the polling here, waiting for a pattern to emerge now that there is only one Republican challenger to Reid to poll against will help determine if a pattern emerges and whether Angle can strip the Senate seat out of Reid's hands.

[Update] The GOP will get behind Angle the whole way now.

Sharron Angle will meet with Republican leaders and fundraisers in Washington this week as the GOP nominee for U.S. Senate seeks support for her Tea Party-backed bid to defeat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

National Republican Senatorial Committee leader Sen. John Cornyn of Texas already has offered Angle as much organizational and financial resources as she needs in her effort to defeat the powerful Democratic incumbent, the top GOP target this year. But she'll talk strategy with Cornyn in person on Tuesday as well as meet with other Republican senators and party leaders that day, according to her campaign.
