Formation Of The National Tea Party Federation (NTPF)

“You, the politicians in Washington, have failed We The People with your bailouts, out-of-control deficit spending, government takeovers of sectors of the economy, Cap & Trade, government-run health care, and higher taxes! If you thought we were just going to quietly go away, or that this tea party movement would be just a passing fad, you were mistaken. We’re taking our country back!” -- Tea Party Express

A little under a year ago the Tea Party was simply a group of people who believed in fiscal responsibility, constitutionally limited government, and free markets, and today it has grown into a movement which is nationally known, constantly reported on and has garnered support from almost every demographic of voter.

Gallup shows that 51 percent of Tea Party supporters are Independent or Democrats and only 49 percent being Republicans. Rasmussen finds that 48 percent, the plurality of voters, feel their views are more aligned with the Tea Party member's view than with Obama's views. The Winston Group finds four in ten Tea Party members are either Independents or Democrats.

Since these figures were released, even major media outlets have started to attempt to actually report on the Tea Party instead of sticking to the stereotyping that Democratic politicians have pushed forward with and have found black conservatives taking great backlash for daring to align themselves with the Tea Party as well as digging deeper into who the Tea Party members are and what they stand for.

Today we see this growing movement is unifying will be forming the National Tea Party Federation (NTPF.

But Thursday a broad coalition of national and regional Tea Party groups are announcing the formation of the National Tea Party Federation (NTPF). According to a statement from the Tea Party Express, one of the groups participating, the federation is being "established to create a unified message and media response amongst key leadership and their affiliates."

Tea Party leaders say the federation will also serve as a clearinghouse and will be used to promote the movement's objectives, which they say are "fiscal responsibility, constitutionally limited government, and free markets.

The creation of the federation is being announced at a Tea Party Express rally Thursday morning in St. Paul, Minnesota. The rally is part of the Tea Party
Express's third national bus tour, which is scheduled to end on April 15. The Tax Day event is expected to draw various tea party and conservative groups to the nation's capital, and to other rallies expected to be held across the country.
