Boxer Wants Investigation Into Leaked Emails, Not Into Information Contained Within them

Emails from the University of East Anglia showing officials attempting to manipulate data regarding climate research and global warming, were hacked into and published for the world to see.

Senator Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) wants an investigation!!!

Not into the manipulated data or those associated with the emails that were trying to manipulate it, nope. She wants those that hacked into the emails and published them investigated instead.

Boxer, the top Democrat on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, said that the recently released e-mails, showing scientists allegedly overstating the case for climate change, should be treated as a crime.

"You call it 'Climategate'; I call it 'E-mail-theft-gate,'" she said during a committee meeting. "Whatever it is, the main issue is, Are we facing global warming or are we not? I'm looking at these e-mails, that, even though they were stolen, are now out in the public."

I guess as far as Boxer is concerned the public simply didn't have the right to know that researchers were manipulating data to make their case and covering up any contradictory evidence.
