Palin Headlines Dominate

I was browsing through the stories listed at memeorandum and the top stories and discussions are all about Sarah Palin.

For a women that one poll reports is more in tune, value wise, with the majority of Americans, while another poll claims more disapprove of her than approves of her, she seems to constantly be written about and the focus of just about everyone.

Take a look at the headlines, from just today and yesterday, and these are only the ones listed on that one political page.

Matthew Continetti / Washington Post:
Will ‘Rogue’ tactics work? — On the right: Unapologetic look at '08 race proves Palin's still a national contender — Like a lot of people, as soon as I got my copy of Sarah Palin's “Going Rogue,” I immediately thought of the German literary critic Hans Robert Jauss.

Going berserk over ‘Going Rogue;’ Democrats' reaction to Sarah Palin book and publicity — Wow, for somebody who's supposed to be such a political joke, an Arctic ditz and eminently dismissable as a serious anything except maybe a stay-at-home hockey mom, Sarah Palin is sure drawing an awful lot …
Peter Hamby / CNN:
Palin: ‘I will forever question’ Rev. Wright strategy — WASHINGTON (CNN) - Sarah Palin's new memoir, “Going Rogue,” contains plenty of second-guessing about the way John McCain's presidential campaign was conducted. — But Palin writes that the campaign's biggest mistake may have been not making …

Sarah Palin: Newsweek — Newsweek — The choice of photo for the cover of this week's Newsweek is unfortunate. When it comes to Sarah Palin, this “news” magazine has relished focusing on the irrelevant rather than the relevant. The Runner's World magazine one-page profile for which this photo …
Michael Carey / New York Times:
In the Wilderness, a New Frontier — SARAH PALIN, a onetime beauty queen, a mother of five, the Republican candidate for vice president in 2008, and the former governor of Alaska, has a new incarnation: author. — Her memoir, “Going Rogue: An American Life,” out today, is already a best seller.

TiVo-blogging Sarah Palin on “Oprah.” — 0:01 — Oprah is incredulous that Sarah Palin hadn't paid any attention — back during the campaign — to the talk about how Oprah had snubbed her. Palin was focused on the campaign. Oprah cannot believe it: “You didn't even know about it?!”

I wonder how many of her critics realize that they, themselves, have made Sarah Palin, a household name.

[Update] Found another one a little further down on the page, with a few discussions on blogs as well.

Chris Cillizza / The Fix:
Morning Fix: The Palin index — 1. Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin's “Going Rogue” didn't come with an index — a no-no in political Washington — but thanks to the Post's Paul “PV” Volpe, we bring you an (abbreviated) index of the bold-faced names mentioned by the 2008 vice presidential nominee in her memoir.

Michael Carey,a columnist for The Anchorage Daily News, get the quote of the day in his opinion piece at New York Times, making the point I mentioned above.

"If that makes you scream, don’t scream at Alaskans. We only made her governor. The nation made her a celebrity."

Heh.... well said. Considering Palin's book is already on the best seller list, I am sure her bank account is thanking every single person that made her a celebrity.... especially those Palin haters.

[Update #2] Looking through Google News, I see that as of right now there are 2,693 stories about Palin.
