Baracknophobia? Why Is Everyone Pissed At Barack Obama?

Charles Cooper writes a piece for CBS blog, Coop's Corner, explaining that conservatives aren't against Barack Obama because of his policies, but just cause they hate him.

Well, ok, let us see who is pissed at Barack Obama and why.

(Linkfest folks because many are annoyed, from left to right and lots in the middle)

We will start with Liberals.

Gay rights campaigners are pissed at Barack Obama because he hasn't fulfilled his campaign promises.

Liberals are pissed at Barack Obama because of the "preventive-detention law".

Liberals are pissed because Barack Obama's White House won't produce a list of health care industries visitors, saying that type of secrecy was wrong for George Bush and is just as wrong with Barack Obama.

Liberals are pissed because Barack Obama changed his position and refused to release further photographs depicting the abuse of detainees held by U.S. authorities abroad.

Liberals are pissed because Obama hasn't reversed the "Don't ask, don't tell" policy preventing gays and lesbians from serving openly in the U.S. military.

When Barack Obama sought the presidency, he pledged to reverse the "Don't ask, don't tell" policy preventing gays and lesbians from serving openly in the U.S. military. Yet on Monday, the Supreme Court rejected a gay Ohio soldier's challenge to the law — with the legal backing of none other than the Obama Administration.

That is a small sample of what I have seen talked about lately in the liberal blogosphere.

Independents are dropping support for Obama as well, not stating they are pissed or angry, so much as showing disappointment at his handling of things like Obamacare, the stimulus $787 billion stimulus package, his push for a public option on healthcare, bailouts of industries using public tax dollars and more.

7/09:

Obama’s job approval rating hit a — still healthy — low of 56 percent in the Gallup Poll on Wednesday. And pollsters are debating whether Obama’s expansive and expensive policy proposals or the ground-level realities of a still-faltering economy are driving the falling numbers.

But a source of the shift appears to be independent voters, who seem to be responding to Republican complaints of excessive spending and government control.

“This is a huge sea change that is playing itself out in American politics,” said Democratic pollster Doug Schoen. “Independents who had become effectively operational Democrats in 2006 and 2008 are now up for grabs and are trending Republican.

“They’re saying, ‘Costing too much, no results, see the downside, not sure of the upside,’” he said.

8/09:

* A majority of Independents — 52% — are unhappy with how Obama is addressing the health care situation in the United States. .....

79% of voters not affiliated with either party, agree that Obama's "policies" are driving up our deficit.

Polling on Obama throughout the last weeks has seen him from going to a majority approving of the job he has done, to more disapproving of it than approving.

6/09:

But the slide was much more pronounced among self-identified purely independent voters -- that is, Americans who express no loyalty to either party.

Among these people, who tend to reside in the middle of the ideological spectrum, the president's job-approval rating fell to 45% from 60% in April.

Conservatives:

Now we get to conservatives and their list of grievances.

The stimulus package, to which the majority of Americans see as not working at all, auto industry and bank industry bailouts, his trying to push Obamacare through the Congress and Senate before their August vacation, before American voters could even determine what was in it, his insistence that a "public option" be part of any healthcare reform.... just to name a small few issues conservatives have with Barack Obama.

But, according to Cooper, the conservative complaints and concerns are Baracknophobia and not legitimate policy concerns.

Does that mean all the pissed off liberals and disappointed Independents are also suffering from Baracknophobia?

Or are all of them truly about policy, but when those same policies concern conservatives, then and only then is it Baracknophobia?

Cooper's last question deserves answering:

Fair enough. There are always going to be honest disagreements between honest men and women about how to best run the country. But the rage is rising and I wonder whether anyone still believes this remains a routine disagreement between left and right. The opposition to the president is more than an amalgam of discontent over budget deficits and bailouts, government spending and the choice of Supreme Court appointees. Almost from the day the Obama administration took office, the refrain has gotten louder and louder, egged on by a fringe pushing rumors that Obama was a Muslim or that Obama was a Kenyan national and thus in violation of the U.S. Constitution. when you step back from the day-to-day, it's clear that health care reform is only the latest reason for Obama's most unyielding critics to vent. With angry demands about wanting back "their America," what is it that they really want to say?

The answer: Obama's policies are endangering our economics, his Obamacare is nothing more than the first step into socialized medicine, to which has been proven in country after country to be unsustainable, his bailouts go against the very principles of capitalism, his stimulus program has done nothing to actually stimultae the economy and his spending practices is quadrupling our deficit.

In other words Mr. Cooper...... His policies suck...that is what we are trying to say.

Any more questions?

How about it? Why is everybody so pissed off at Barack Obama?

Do you hate the man or his policies?
