Raising gas Taxes and Creating Milage Taxes

What do you do if you are lawmakers and faced with a bad economy? Well in the twilight zone world we live in, lets raises more taxes, yeah, that makes sense.

With motorists trimming back on trips and buying less gasoline, lawmakers in Washington and Hartford could face the prospect of raising gasoline taxes to pay for transportation projects in a faltering economy.

If you are in Oregon, they want to switch from gas tax to taxing you for the miles you drive!

Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski wants his state to switch from a gas tax to a system that taxes people for how many miles they actually drive.

He is asking the state legislature to move forward with a plan that would replace the central funding source for the state's transportation initiatives, according to an Associated Press story.

Yup, twilight zone.
