Seven Reasons For Barack Obama To Worry

Interesting piece from The Politico entitled "7 worrisome signs for Obama".

The seven things listed are; race, Obama’s strength in Virginia may be overhyped, Michigan’s in play for McCain, Bad times could be good for McCain, Where have you gone, Ross Perot?, The Legacy of LBJ, Jimmy and Bubba, and Americans may want divided government.

It doesn't help that the article produces quotes from an Obama supporter, Bob Kerrey, is saying, "John McCain is a known quantity. You don't look at John and say, ‘Who the heck is he?’. He's a veteran, he's a guy who got pretty banged up in Vietnam. He can deal with crisis. There's some uncertainty about Senator Obama.”

Kerrey goes on to add, "The country's still pretty divided … people may want a divided government. They want change, but I'm not sure that the Democratic agenda has the support of a majority of Americans.”

With Obama supporters making such statements, it is any wonder that John McCain has risen to have more public trust on 9 out of 14 key electoral issues and that the race is neck and neck?

Kerrey is right, but it is not something you expect to see an Obama supporter to acknowledge publicly.

Are some of the more moderate Obama supporters starting to wonder if voting to put an inexperienced man, like Obama, in the position of president something to worry about?

Just saying....

[Update] Another statement from yet another Democratic politician about John McCain, via Commentary:

“He’s a very good legislator from my point of view, because when he gets onto something, he doesn’t just want to introduce a bill, he likes to move it. And he’s fearless,” Feingold said of McCain, who once called the Wisconsin Democrat a “philosophical soul mate” on reform issues. (The two partnered on several other bills in addition to campaign finance.) “People couldn’t believe how long we stayed on McCain-Feingold. . . . We’d come to those press conferences (year after year) and you guys would laugh at us, I mean, literally,” said Feingold, grinning. “He’s a great guy to fight an uphill battle with legislatively. He keeps his word. . . . I probably shouldn’t be saying this stuff, but to be honest about it, it was one of the better professional experiences I’ve ever had in my life,” Feingold said.

Last but not least, Hot Air provides video of a "show stopper" question that stumps Obama supporters regarding what has Obama done to show he can work across the aisle.

Matthews himself called the question, “What has he done?”, a show-stopper. No one could point to a single effective action he has taken to cross the aisle, while everyone acknowledged that John McCain has taken actual risks to do so. David Brooks tells the room that Republican Senators and staffers insist that Hillary Clinton works across the aisle and keeps communication open, but Obama has never bothered to do that, and both Democrats and Republicans on the Hill agree on his arrogance.

Go to Hot Air, linked above, to see the video.

I would probably be able to come up with a few additional reasons why Obama and his supporters should be worried right about now.
