Mark Johnstone, Summer Camp Worker Arrested for Child Molestation

Mark Johnstone, resident of Glendale Arizona, was arrested Friday and charged with a felony count of sexual abuse. He is accused of child molestation, sexual abuse and sexual misconduct while employed by the City of Peoria's summer recreation program.
Johnstone, 34, was booked into the Maricopa County Jail on one count of child molestation, one count of sexual abuse and nine counts of sexual conduct with a minor.

According to police he had sexual contact with three female children, ages 7 to 9 years of age, between June 1 and Aug. 3, 2007, on a bus while attending field trips and other recreational activities, while he was assigned to a summer program at Cheyenne Elementary School at 11806 N. 87th Ave.

One victim came forward and reported the incident to police on Aug. 3 and then the other two came forward on Sept. 25, police investigators said.

Johnstone was immediately removed from the summer program by the Community Services Department after police notified them of the allegation.

After the accusations, Johnstone, was removed from the summer recreation program and was re-assigned to where he would have no contact with the community. He was officially terminated in December of 2007.
