Man Arrested After Shooting Up A Birthday Party in Texas, Two Dead, Four Injured

Two dead, a 5 year old child and her grandmother, four injured, including the 9 year old birthday girl in a drive-by shooting that occurred on Sunday night in Fort Worth, Texas.
This afternoon the Forth Worth police arrested Erick Daniel Davila on a capital murder warrant, after they saw him exit an apartment at the Copper Creek Apartment complex, in the Woodhaven area, which led to a brief car chase where Davila struck several vehicles and then crashed into a fence. He then took his gun, exited the vehicle and led the police on a foot chase until they apprehended him.

On Sunday night at an apartment on the 5700 block of Anderson Street in southeast Fort Worth, Nahtica Stevenson was being given a birthday party to celebrate her 9th birthday, which was the following day, Monday.

The party was held at her grandmothers apartment, Annette Stevenson, and approximately a dozen children were outside on the porch for ice cream and cake, after having sung happy birthday to Nahtica, when Davila allegedly fired about 11 shots into the crowd of children.

Annette Stevenson and other adults began rushing the children inside the house before the next volley of bullets started, some of which shot through the windows of the home.

When the bullets stopped flying, Annette Stevenson had been shot and died at the scene, her 5 year old granddaughter was shot in the neck and stomach and later died at the Cook Children's Medical Center, and four others had been wounded. Those with the non life threatening wounds were Nahtica Stevenson who was the birthday girl, suffering graze wounds to her legs, her 10-year-old sister, their 12-year-old cousin and a 35-year-old cousin.

The investigation continues and as of now, no motive has been attributed for the drive-by shooting.
