Jane Fonda aka Hanoi Jane Backs Barack Obama

Jane Fonda is endorsing Barack Obama.

There is so much wrong with this on so many levels, let me start with the one glaring thought that entered my mind when I saw that article.

But a video camera was rolling as she approached the street and someone, perhaps just trying to get her to turn around for a picture, shouted out at her back, "Who are you going to vote for?"

There was a moment of silence. Then, the actress did turn around toward the cameras, paused and with a smile said simply, "Obama!" Then she got into a car and drove away.

Jane Fonda once said about the Vietnam prisoners of war (some of which were held captive for up to 9 years), that they should "not hail the POWs as heroes, because they are hypocrites and liars. These were not men who had been tortured. These were not men who had been starved. These were not men who had been brainwashed."

That picture is of Jane Fonda, sitting with anti-aircraft shells that are ready to be used to shoot down American planes by her foot.

Barack Obama has no say over who supports him, or who votes for him or who endorses him, so her endorsement reflects nothing except the type of people that are drawn to Barack Obama.

Considering John McCain, was once one of those very men that were held, starved, and tortured by the people that Fonda consorted with, Barack Obama should very quickly reject this particular endorsement.

Her antics, which many called completely treasonous, cannot be associated with Barack Obama, unless he refuses to distance himself from her.

This is not a name that Obama wants associated with his own, especially if he is chosen as the Democratic nominee for presidency against John McCain.

[Update] I love PoliGazettes title regarding the Fonda endorsement. ‘Get Away From Me!
