Fred and Jeri Thompson in Virginia

The video put on YouTube is shot from Mary Katherine Ham over at Townhall, and NRO also gives their analysis.

Fred Thompson in Virginia:

I like his style. He has that southern charm that works for him.

Most importantly, in my mind, he doesn't seem desperate as most the presidential candidates do when they are speaking publicly.

You get the feeling he will do what needs to be done if people are bright enough to understand what needs to be done in the first place.

Unlike the pandering Hillary Clinton that wants to pretend she is totally on the left, but also on the right and hey, she tries to be in the center also.

Hillary Clinton, you'll remember, has staked out a nuanced position on the surge. In a speech to the Veterans of Foreign Wars in late August, Clinton declared of the surge, "It's working." And now, O'Hanlon has been named as a foreign policy adviser to the Clinton campaign.

I would much prefer a candidate that knows where they stand and stands there no matter what, because they believe it is the right stand, than one that will stand where ever they think they can get the most votes from.

One is principled, the other simply a pandering liar.
