Norman Hsu: A fugitive again

We told you about Norman Hsu and his massive contributions to the Democratic party as well as the fact that he was a fugitive, once again linking Hillary Clinton and others to campaign scandals once again.

He turned himself in, was ordered to turn in his passport and was due in court again this morning.

He didn't show.

Norman Hsu, the bigtime Democratic Party fundraiser who was a fugitive from a pending prison term for years while raising money for prominent Democrats including Sen. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, failed to appear for a bail hearing in Redwood City, Calif. this morning.

His lawyer says he has no idea where his client is. And Hsu did not turn in his passport as required.

An arrest warrant was issued.

Hsu pleaded no contest in 1991 to a felony count of grand theft, admitting he'd defrauded investors of $1 million in a bogus investment scam. Prosecutors say he was facing up to three years in prison when he skipped town before being sentenced.

Federal Election Commission records show Hsu donated more than a quarter-million dollars to Democrats and their party since 2004.

By not appearing, Hsu forfeits his request to cut his $2 million bond in half.

After his fugitive status was made very public, the majority of those that have received contributions from him agreed to donate those contributions to charities, although not all.

A spokesman for the Tennessee Democratic Party said this morning that it would not return the $58,000 in contributions it’s received from Norman Hsu, who recently turned himself in to authorities in California after 15 years as a fugitive.

“Our contributions were received, properly disclosed and utilized in the previous election cycle,” said Wade Munday, a Democratic Party spokesman.

The decision runs contrary to other Democratic politicians who have received contributions from Hsu, a prominent party donor.

Hillary was against donating those contributions before she was for it.

Now, despite Mr. Hsu's fugitive status, Hillary Clinton's campaign says there is no reason to return any donations made by Mr. Hsu.

The Clinton campaign said today that it saw no reason to return donations from two major campaign contributors whose donations, according to the Wall Street Journal, closely track one another.

[Update] Looks like Hillary sees how bad her association with Hsu looks and has decided to give part of her contributions from him to charity..I wonder if that also includes the Paw's contributions also.

More from Fox News and Gateway Pundit..

Point of note: Clean cut Barack Obama seems to be one of those politicians that has refused to return those donations.

More to come when and if the keystone cops manage to capture the fugitive Norman Hsu.
