Eli E. Hertz on Ahmadinejad

I tried, when I got in from work. I really tried, because I firmly believe that one should know the face and thoughts of one's enemy.

I could not watch Ahmadinejad address the audience at Columbia University.

My temper could not handle it.

Eli Hertz seems to be...miffed...as well, because his newletter today is short and to the point.

Bring Ahmad Ahmadinejad to justice

September 24, 2007 | Eli E. Hertz

International law requires that the U.S. Government, the United Nations, the New York Police Department, and Columbia University apprehend Ahmadinejad and bring him to justice!

U.S. Department of State - Iran - A State Sponsor of Terrorism

"Iran remained the most active state sponsor of terrorism ... involved in the planning and support of terrorist acts and continued to exhort a variety of groups, especially Palestinian groups with leadership cadres in Syria and Lebanese Hizballah, to use terrorism in pursuit of their goals. In addition, the IRGC was increasingly involved in supplying lethal assistance to Iraqi militant groups, which destabilizes Iraq.

"Iran maintained a high-profile role in encouraging anti-Israeli terrorist activity -- rhetorically, operationally, and financially. Supreme Leader Khamenei and President Ahmadinejad praised Palestinian terrorist operations, and Iran provided Lebanese Hizballah and Palestinian terrorist groups -- notably Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command -- with extensive funding, training, and weapons"

International Law

The UN Security Council resolutions (UNSC) and International treaties go on to impose uniform mandatory counter-terrorist obligations on all states - U.S. included - to "bring to justice the perpetrators [E.H. in this case Iran, Hamas, and Hezbollah], organizers and sponsors of terrorist attacks and stresses that those responsible for aiding, supporting or harboring the perpetrators and sponsors of these acts will be held accountable"
There is no escape clause – United Nations Security Council repeats "its unequivocal condemnation of all acts, methods and practices of terrorism as criminal and unjustifiable, regardless of their motivation, in all their forms and manifestations, wherever and by whomever committed." Iran and its President, are clearly committing Crimes Against Humanity - acts of terrorism for which the UN Security Council under Chapter VII of the United Charter directs everyone to fight by all means.

I agree one hundred percent. It is an insult to every one of us who wore the uniform of our nations armed forces, and an AFFRONT to those families who have suffered on 9/11 and in the years since, that that man is ON OUR SOIL as a guest, not as a prisoner.

I'm at a loss on what to say, I'm so enraged.

And I'm SURE I'm not the ONLY veteran out there today asking was our service to our nation for this?
