In God We Trust, no more

U.S. Mint’s latest production is the George Washington $1 coin, which is missing one important thing ... In God We Trust. George is the first of many new coins, as the mint has plans to introduce a new coin every three months, each one featuring the head of a U.S. President. (hat tip Gene)

Tony Phyrillas wants to know if this coin was designed by a committee made up of ACLU members?

The words are not on the front, which features a terrible likeness of George Washington. The words are not on the back, which features the Statue of Liberty.

Look closer. You might need a magnifying glass.

I gave the coin to another person and asked them to find "In God We Trust" on it. It took them 1 minute and 15 seconds to find the inscription, but they weren't sure what the words said because they were so tiny.

The words "In God We Trust" are found on the edge of the coin. [snip]

All U.S. coins feature "In God We Trust" on the front. You can even make out the motto clearly on a dime. But good luck finding it on the new $1 coin.

Even if you find it, who knows how long it will remain on the coins. What part of the coin is the easiest to wear away? The edge, of course. How long will "In God We Trust" appear on the new $1 coins before the words are rubbed away entirely?

Has the ACLU and the militant atheists infiltrated the U.S. Mint?

If this trend continues, our currency will not be the same when our grandchildren grow up and have children of their own. (read more)
