No Brainers: In today's News

After going through today's news again, I found a few things that I would consider as no brainers.

First the EU finally acknowledges that "limited" sanctions be imposed on Iran... ya think??? The French are slow on the uptake, but at least they finally see the light, or maybe the "nuke". I say this, having a French surname of my own...how embarrassing is that?

"The Iranians' refusal leaves us no choice today but to take to the Security Council route. The Security Council should adopt gradual, reversible measures proportionate to Iranian actions,"

French Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy told reporters.
German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier called it the "first step in sanctions" but stressed the EU's offer of cooperation remained on the table if Iran was willing to meet the conditions.

In New York, French U.N. Ambassador Jean-Marc de la Sabliere told Reuters three European powers -- France, Britain and Germany -- planned to put forward a draft U.N. Security Council resolution "during the course of this week. We are aiming for Wednesday or Thursday."

The next no brainer: Guatemala Leads Venezuela in UN vote... I cannot believe they are on the 11th round of votes. This "should" have been a no brainer, if the UN is serious about ever getting anything accomplished, it cannot have Venezuela anywhere near it. Unbelievable that anyone is actually voting for them, yet they are.... hell, that's even more embarrassing than having a French surname.

Then we have Good ole Saddam the peacemaker. First sending a letter to his people to "end violence", that's rich, then
attacking prosecution witnesses in his genocide trial.

"The Zionists are the only ones who will benefit from the differences among Iraqis," Saddam added.

Yup, blame the Jews, everyone else does.... seems to be a popular theme. Idiots.

So all this and that damned "common good" idiocy, the news has really riled me up today. Guess I should lay off the coffee before my head actually does explode.

Hat tip tp Stop the ACLU who emailed me a link to the latest no brainer. It seems the ACLU is having themselves a rant of their own about President Bush signing the Military Commissions Act-2006 this morning.
I applaud Pirate's Cove, I could not have said it better myself.

Yet again, the ACLU proves that they do not understand who the Constitution applies to. A hint for them: it applies to Americans and those applying for citizenship, not foreigners caught fighting in Afghanistan wearing no uniform who would be happy to cut American heads off with rusty saws.

Let them keep whining while the president protects them along with the rest of us, despite themselves and their big mouths.
