Media Helps Al-qaeda

We are involved in a propaganda war that may be more important than what happens on the battlefield. The American people need to understand the nature of certain media outlets such as the New York Times and Washington Post, using just two examples. They will publish stories with half truths and distortions to get a headline.

I understand that headlines are the name of the game. Where is the objectivity? Where is the reporting on the "whole" story and letting the readers and/or listeners decide for themselves.
Where is the fairness?

I also understand that in every war in our history we have had anti-war protestors and media that has always made sure to show the worst side without ever portraying the triumphs, but in this day and age of the internet, one would think that the media would have evolved with the technology. Sadly it hasn't. I am not sure it ever will.

My problem with the rags, like the two mentioned above, is that they are actually helping Al-Qaeda as well as other terrorists groups to not only divide the country, but in shaping certain political agendas. This is dangerous on so many levels.

We already know Al-Qaeda intentions are to use American media to undermine the will of America to stand strong in our war against terror. Knowing this and then making a concentrated effort to do exactly as Al-Qaeda has predicted and wishes them to do, is complicity in my opinion.

All you have to look at is the timing of the videos that come out of Al-Qaeda, they generally appear when we have announced gains or the capture of a senior Al-Qaeda member. They come out in higher numbers around election time. Is this a coincidence? I personally do not think so. Al-Qaeda knows the nature of the media, certain media, and the nature of the Democrats that lean far to the left. That nature is to get out, set a timeline, quit...... cut and run. They take full advantage of that attitude to use against the US. Certain media outlets as well as the Democrats play right into their strategy, their plan. Worse yet, they do so, knowing full well what that plan is.

As Zarqawi (now dead) said in a letter released in 2004, written to Al-Qaeda:

"We have been hiding for a long time, and now we are seriously working on preparing a media outlet to reveal the truth, inflame zeal, and become an outlet for jihad in which the sword and the pen can turn into one. Along with this, we strive to illuminate the hindering errors of Islamic law and the clarifications of Islamic legal precepts by way of tapes, lessons and courses which people will come to understand. "

Whether you agree or not to the war in Iraq, it is done, we are there, the decisions to go in have been made, rightly or wrongly. It is what it is. I do not believe there is any question about whether we need to win there or not. We must win. There is no other option.

Then we have the exact planning of how Al-Qaeda plans on controlling Iraq, this letter was to Zarqawi from Zawahiri, it is of no importance that Zarqawi is dead, it does not change the ultimate goal of Al-Qaeda.

So we must think for a long time about our next steps and how we want to attain it, and it is my humble opinion that the Jihad in Iraq requires several incremental goals:

The first stage: Expel the Americans from Iraq.

The second stage: Establish an Islamic authority or amirate, then develop it and support it until it achieves the level of a caliphate- over as much territory as you can to spread its power in Iraq, i.e., in Sunni areas, is in order to fill the void stemming from the departure of the Americans, immediately upon their exit and before unIslamic forces attempt to fill this void, whether those whom the Americans will leave behind them, or those among the un-Islamic forces who will try to jump at taking power.

The third stage: Extend the jihad wave to the secular countries neighboring Iraq.

The fourth stage: It may coincide with what came before: the clash with Israel, because Israel was established only to challenge any new Islamic entity.

D-If we look at the two short-term goals, which are removing the Americans and establishing an Islamic amirate in Iraq, or a caliphate if possible, then, we will see that the strongest weapon which the mujahedeen enjoy - after the help and granting of success by God - is popular support from the Muslim masses in Iraq, and the surrounding Muslim countries.

So, we have in writing, the exact methods to be used in Iraq, we know for a fact that the first goal is to "Expel the Americans", and the far left still insists on a timeline, they actual are encouraging, by using the media for their political gains, Al-Qaeda..... practically informing them that if the Democrats win the election, "it will simply be a matter of time" before they will pull Americans out of Iraq. Way to go!!!!! With friends like them, do we even NEED enemies? Talk about stabbing the US in the back.

As for blaming the US for the difficulties in Iraq, one only needs to read the section in the letter referring to the exact methods that will be used (and now have been used) to attain their goals.

D. The Shi'a in our opinion, these are the key to change. Targeting and striking their religious, political, and military symbols, will make them show their rage against the Sunnis and bear their inner vengeance. If we succeed in dragging them into a sectarian war, this will awaken the sleepy Sunnis who are fearful of destruction and death at the hands of these Sabeans, i.e., the Shi'a. Despite their weakness, the Sunnis are strong-willed and honest and different from the coward and deceitful Shi'a, who only attack the weak. Most of the Sunnis are aware of the danger of these people and they fear them. If it were not for those disappointing shaykhs, Sufis, and Muslim brothers, Sunnis would have a different attitude.

The NIE report, while I will admit to the one of the key judgments being that the United States-led counterterrorism efforts have seriously damaged the leadership of al-QaÂ’ida and disrupted its operations; however, we judge that al-QaÂ’ida will continue to pose the greatest threat to the Homeland and US interests abroad by a single terrorist organization. We also assess that the global jihadist movement —which includes al- QaÂ’ida, affiliated and independent terrorist groups, and emerging networks and cells —is spreading and adapting to counterterrorism efforts.

I also read the whole thing, which of course the "leaked" portions to the New York Times did NOT include saying:

We assess that the global jihadist movement is decentralized, lacks a coherent global strategy, and is becoming more diffuse.

Also the report makes it very clear that we must prevail in Iraq:

The Iraq conflict has become the .cause celebre. for jihadists, breeding a deep resentment of US involvement in the Muslim world and cultivating supporters for the global jihadist movement. Should jihadists leaving Iraq perceive themselves, and be perceived, to have failed, we judge fewer fighters will be inspired to carry on the fight.

Knowing all of these things, together, how is the media and the Democrats helping and how are they practically acting as an agent of Al-Qaeda? These are some very important questions people need to ask themselves before heading to the polls in November for elections.

My last thoughts on this subject for today (I hope) is this: Imagine living in the Middle East, imagine living in a world where you have to have bomb shelters in your homes or in your neighborhoods. Imagine having the daily fear that rockets, bombs and suicide bombers are going to be outside your door. This is a distinct possibility for the US, something we may have to live with in OUR country, if we allow the war on terror to be lost, even in the media.

In an issue not related directly to the media, I ran across this and think it deserves a reading.
We need not apologize for protecting ourselves.
