Zimmerman Defense Attorney Blasts Media For Running Over Zimmerman (Video)

From start to finish the media has attempted to convict George Zimmerman in the court of public opinion and continued to race bait, falsely edit 911 calls to create the appearance of racism on the part of  Zimmerman on the night he shot Trayvon Martin in what he claims was self defense.

After the  not guilty verdict was rendered on Saturday night, Zimmerman's defense attorney, Mark O'Mara, blasted the media for the part they played in trying to portray Zimmerman as a monster they took the story and 'ran him over' with it.

Major Media Ignores That NBC News Again Caught Selectively Editing Video

Once again NBC News is caught editing video for liberal political gain to make it seem to mean something different than it actually means.

Deceptive journalistic practices at NBC News show no sign of slowing down. This latest attempt to selectively edit audio/video in order to benefit Barack Obama represents the seventh such act of willful, intentional journalistic malpractice. NBC News is already being sued over one instance involving George Zimmerman. Via Newsbusters, here is the latest, which occurred Thursday at MSNBC:

The whole idea behind this edit was to make it look as though a Republican congressman Pete Sessions was claiming that giving food stamps to the poor meant you were giving food stamps to rapists and child molesters. In other words, poor people are criminals.

As you can see, though, what Session really said and meant was the exact opposite.

Since NBC News has begun this regular practice of deceptively editing audio, video, and photos in order to make Obama's political critics and foes look bad, the rest of the media as a whole have hardly bothered to notice.

Prominent Liberal Radio Host Calls For Attorney General Eric Holder's Dismissal

Liberal talk radio host, Bill Press, described by The Hill as a "prominent" liberal voice, is calling for the ouster of Attorney General Eric Holder, over the AP phone record scandal, just one of the scandals that seems to be rocking Washington DC this month.

What "breach of national security" are we talking about re the AP story? It's BS and Holder should be fired.

With his tweets, Press becomes one of the first prominent liberal voices to call for the dismissal of Holder over the records seizure.

The Justice Department said in a letter to The Associated Press on Friday that it had gathered records on at least 20 office, cell phone, and home phone numbers — including the AP's desk in the House of Representatives press gallery

This puts Mr. Press in the same boat as Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus, who also called for Holder's dismissal.

“Attorney General Eric Holder, in permitting the Justice Department to issue secret subpoenas to spy on Associated Press reporters, has trampled on the First Amendment and failed in his sworn duty to uphold the Constitution," said Priebus in a statement.

"Because Attorney General Holder has so egregiously violated the public trust, the president should ask for his immediate resignation. If President Obama does not, the message will be unmistakable: The President of the United States believes his administration is above the Constitution and does not respect the role of a free press,” he added.

According to Michael Sneed, at Chicago Sun-Times, plans to oust Holder in a way that leaves his "reputation intact," is already being discussed at the White House and Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick's name is being bandied about as a possible replacement for Holder.

As evidenced by the recent headlines and the shredding of White House spokesman Jay Carney at Tuesday's White House press briefing, the media has abandoned their "circle the Obama wagon" mentality, for now, and another article from The Hill reports that Barack Obama is attempting to "win back" the press by "wooing" them.

To bolster President Obama’s free-press credentials, the White House announced Wednesday it had asked Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) to reintroduce a press shield law that would allow media organizations to challenge subpoenas of phone records and offer legal protections for protecting confidential sources.

Will it work or is it too little, too late?

More importantly, why did it take going after one of their own, the AP, for the mainstream media to start doing their job?

Major Media Utterly Fails: Only 12% Of The Public Informed That Gun Homicide Rate Down 49% Since 1993

The mainstream media has spectacularly failed in their job to inform the public and the proof of it is in the numbers. As was reported yesterday, a Pew Research study found that gun crime has plunged, homicides, assaults, robberies and other crimes committed with a gun, all down, yet only 12 percent of the public has been informed and knew it.

Compared with 1993, the peak of U.S. gun homicides, the firearm homicide rate was 49% lower in 2010, and there were fewer deaths, even though the nation’s population grew. The victimization rate for other violent crimes with a firearm—assaults, robberies and sex crimes—was 75% lower in 2011 than in 1993. Violent non-fatal crime victimization overall (with or without a firearm) also is down markedly (72%) over two decades.

Yet 56 percent of Americans believe gun crime is higher than 20 years ago.

Think about why that is... how could Americans be that misinformed, that ignorant of the facts, the numbers, the news?

One of the few major news outlets, LA Times, that are bothering to inform the public of these latest figures states:

Despite the remarkable drop in gun crime, only 12% of Americans surveyed said gun crime had declined compared with two decades ago, according to Pew, which surveyed  more than 900 adults this spring. Twenty-six percent said it had stayed the same, and 56% thought it had increased.

It’s unclear whether media coverage is driving the misconception that such violence is up. The mass shootings in Newtown, Conn., and Aurora, Colo., were among the news stories most closely watched by Americans last year, Pew found. Crime has also been a growing focus for national newscasts and morning network shows in the past five years but has become less common on local television news.

Unclear? Really?

Despite the fact that the Pew study came out yesterday, and the Bureau of Justice Statistics report was released Tuesday, looking through Google News, keywords "Pew Research gun crime",  there are only a handful reporting it today, including the LA Times article quoted from above.

Reuters, Fox News,  International Business Times  USA Today, NPR, Beaufort Observer, and MSNnow, is what you find, so far.

There is nothing unclear about this, contrary to the LA times assertion.

I stand by what I said yesterday: "Maybe the media should do a better job of providing the public with actual data instead of pushing their political gun control agenda and ignoring anything that does not conform with their ideology."

 The very first item listed for the Society of Professional Journalists' Code of Ethics is "Seek Truth and Report It."

The Preamble:

Members of the Society of Professional Journalists believe that public enlightenment is the forerunner of justice and the foundation of democracy. The duty of the journalist is to further those ends by seeking truth and providing a fair and comprehensive account of events and issues. Conscientious journalists from all media and specialties strive to serve the public with thoroughness and honesty. Professional integrity is the cornerstone of a journalist's credibility. Members of the Society share a dedication to ethical behavior and adopt this code to declare the Society's principles and standards of practice.

A few of the ethical rules listed under that "Seek Truth and Report It" category.

• Test the accuracy of information from all sources and exercise care to avoid inadvertent error. Deliberate distortion is never permissible.

• Examine their own cultural values and avoid imposing those values on others.

• Distinguish between advocacy and news reporting. Analysis and commentary should be labeled and not misrepresent fact or context.

The other categories are "Minimize Harm," Act Independently," and "Be Accountable."

By every standard set forth in journalistic ethics, the major media has utterly failed to do the one and only job they have... inform the public with no agenda other than telling the truth.

Pew: Gun Homicide Rate Down 49% Since 1993 Peak; Public Unaware

National rates of gun homicide and other violent gun crimes are strikingly lower now than during their peak in the mid-1990s, paralleling a general decline in violent crime, according to a Pew Research Center analysis of government data. Beneath the long-term trend, though, are big differences by decade: Violence plunged through the 1990s, but has declined less dramatically since 2000.

Nearly all the decline in the firearm homicide rate took place in the 1990s; the downward trend stopped in 2001 and resumed slowly in 2007. The victimization rate for other gun crimes plunged in the 1990s, then declined more slowly from 2000 to 2008. The rate appears to be higher in 2011 compared with 2008, but the increase is not statistically significant. Violent non-fatal crime victimization overall also dropped in the 1990s before declining more slowly from 2000 to 2010, then ticked up in 2011.

Despite national attention to the issue of firearm violence, most Americans are unaware that gun crime is lower today than it was two decades ago. According to a new Pew Research Center survey, today 56% of Americans believe gun crime is higher than 20 years ago and only 12% think it is lower.

U.S. Firearm Deaths

• In 2010, there were 3.6 gun homicides per 100,000 people, compared with 7.0 in 1993, according to CDC data.
• In 2010, CDC data counted 11,078 gun homicide deaths, compared with 18,253 in 1993.⁵
• Men and boys make up the vast majority (84% in 2010) of gun homicide victims. The firearm homicide rate also is more than five times as high for males of all ages (6.2 deaths per 100,000 people) as it is for females (1.1 deaths per 100,000 people).
• By age group, 69% of gun homicide victims in 2010 were ages 18 to 40, an age range that was 31% of the population that year. Gun homicide rates also are highest for adults ages 18 to 24 and 25 to 40.
• A disproportionate share of gun homicide victims are black (55% in 2010, compared with the 13% black share of the population). Whites were 25% of victims but 65% of the population in 2010. Hispanics were 17% of victims and 16% of the population in 2010.
• The firearm suicide rate (6.3 per 100,000 people) is higher than the firearm homicide rate and has come down less sharply. The number of gun suicide deaths (19,392 in 2010) outnumbered gun homicides, as has been true since at least 1981.

U.S. Firearm Crime Victimization

• In 2011, the NCVS estimated there were 181.5 gun crime victimizations for non-fatal violent crime (aggravated assault, robbery and sex crimes) per 100,000 Americans ages 12 and older, compared with 725.3 in 1993.
• In terms of numbers, the NCVS estimated there were about 1.5 million non-fatal gun crime victimizations in 1993 among U.S. residents ages 12 and older, compared with 467,000 in 2011.

U.S. Other Non-fatal Crime

• The victimization rate for all non-fatal violent crime among those ages 12 and older—simple and aggravated assaults, robberies and sex crimes, with or without firearms—dropped 53% from 1993 to 2000, and 49% from 2000 to 2010. It rose 17% from 2010 to 2011.
• Although not the topic of this report, the rate of property crimes—burglary, motor vehicle theft and theft—also declined from 1993 to 2011, by 61%. The rate for these types of crimes was 351.8 per 100,000 people ages 12 and older in 1993, 190.4 in 2000 and 138.7 in 2011.

How is it that the public is so unaware of the drop in homicide and other violent gun crimes, by such a large percentage?

Maybe the media should do a better job of providing the public with actual data instead of pushing their political gun control agenda and ignoring anything that does not conform with their ideology.

Washington Post Pro-Choice Writer Admits Reason For The Lack Of Coverage On Kermit Gosnell Trial

Ever since Kirsten Powers took to the pages of USA Today with a piece headlined "We've forgotten what belongs on Page One," writers from multiple news outlets have attempted to explain, excuse or justify now reporting on Kermit Gosnell:

Infant beheadings. Severed baby feet in jars. A child screaming after it was delivered alive during an abortion procedure. Haven't heard about these sickening accusations?

It's not your fault. Since the murder trial of Pennsylvania abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell began March 18, there has been precious little coverage of the case that should be on every news show and front page. The revolting revelations of Gosnell's former staff, who have been testifying to what they witnessed and did during late-term abortions, should shock anyone with a heart.

Melinda Hennebergeron writing for  the "She The People", Washington Post blog, hits the nail on the head as she explains the lack of significant national coverage on the Kermit Gosnell Abotion Clinic "House of Horrors."

But, why wasn’t more written sooner? One colleague viewed Gosnell’s alleged atrocities as a local crime story, though I can’t think of another mass murder, with hundreds of victims, that we ever saw that way. Another said it was just too lurid, though that didn’t keep us from covering Jeffrey Dahmer, or that aspiring cannibal at the NYPD.

Yet another said it’s because the rest of the country doesn’t care about Philadelphia — that one was especially creative, I thought. And a friend argued that any “blackout” boiled down to the usual lack of media interest in the low-income community Gosnell “served.” (While he routinely turned poor, black patients over to assistants who lacked even a high school education, according to court testimony, the white patients he seated separately, and treated himself.)

I say we didn’t write more because the only abortion story most outlets ever cover in the news pages is every single threat or perceived threat to abortion rights. In fact, that is so fixed a view of what constitutes coverage of that issue that it’s genuinely hard, I think, for many journalists to see a story outside that paradigm as news. That’s not so much a conscious decision as a reflex, but the effect is one-sided coverage.

That is it in a nutshell. Any pro-abortion story is newsworthy in the eyes of the media and anything else is hidden like a dirty little secret.

Kudos to Hennebergeron, who is pro-choice, for admitting that.

Media And Liberals Attack Dr. Ben Carson For Using Examples But Ignore Sotomayor Incest Example

John Nolte noticed that Dr. Ben Carson, who happens to hold conservative ideologies on the issue of the definition of marriage, being between a man and woman, was treated far differently by liberals and the media than liberal Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, when both used 'examples" to make a point.

Carson's, discussed here, are shown below:

During Sean Hannity's show on Tuesday, when asked about the matter before the Supreme Court, Carson said, "Marriage is between a man and a woman. No group, be they gays, be they NAMBLA, be they people who believe in bestiality, it doesn't matter what they are. They don't get to change the definition."

 After liberals and the media went nuts over his examples, claiming he was "comparing" gays to NAMBLA, Carson apologized if the examples he used offended and explained:

"I think people have completely taken the wrong meaning out of what I was saying," the 61-year-old surgeon said in a telephone interview Friday. "First of all, I certainly believe gay people should have all the rights that anybody else has. What I was basically saying is that as far as marriage is concerned that has traditionally been between a man and a woman and nobody should be able to change that."

"Now perhaps the examples were not the best choice of words, and I certainly apologize if I offended anyone," he added. "But the point that I was making was that no group of individuals, whoever they are, whatever their belief systems, gets to change traditional definitions. The reason I believe the way I do, I will readily confess, is because I am a Christian who believes in The Bible."

The Bible, he explained, "...says we have an obligation to love our fellow man as ourselves, and I love everybody the same -- all homosexuals. Everybody who knows me knows I would never say anything to intentionally hurt someone."

Nolte over at Breitbart points out that while on opposite ends of the political spectrum, Sotomayor too used an example that, had Carson or any other conservative used to make a contrasting point, would have been skewered for, yet the media and liberals have been oddly silent.

Incest.

JUSTICE SOTOMAYOR:

Mr. Olson, the bottom line that you're being asked -- and -- and it is one that I'm interested in the answer: If you say that marriage is a fundamental right, what State restrictions could ever exist? Meaning, what State restrictions with respect to the number of people, with respect to -- that could get married -- the incest laws, the mother and the child, assuming they are of age -- I can -- I can accept that the State has probably an overbearing interest on -- on protecting the a child until they're of age to marry, but what's left? 

 Nolte states quite clearly that Sotomayor wasn't making a comparison between gay marriage and incest just as Carson wasn't making a comparison, both were simply using examples about separate aspects of an issue.

The point of Nolte's piece is the hypocrisy and double standard shown on the part of liberals and the media coverage of the two, one liberal and one conservative.

Is anyone naive enough to believe that had Carson used those same examples, in some way, in favor of changing the definition of marriage, he would have been attacked for it?

Wapo Writer Suzi Parker Humiliated After Writing A Palin Piece Using Satirical Site As Source

How difficult is it for writers to understand the concept of confirm and verify?

Obviously for Washington Post writer Suzi Parker, the concept is very hard.

Politico has the back story:

On Feb. 4, the Daily Currant published a satirical piece stating that Palin was "bouncing back by joining the fledgling Al Jazeera America news network as a host and commentator." Parker cites this piece and uses quotes that the Currant attributes to Palin, including:

“As you all know, I’m not a big fan of newspapers, journalists, news anchors and the liberal media in general,” Palin told the Web site The Daily Currant. “But I met with the folks at Al-Jazeera and they told me they reach millions of devoutly religious people who don’t watch CBS or CNN. That tells me they don’t have a liberal bias.”

Politico contacted  Al Jazeera and was told Sarah Palin is not joining the global news network.

That is more than Parker did before she was off and running reporting "a cautionary tale about what can happen when politics and celebrity meet."

 "Late last week Al Jazeera America announced the former vice-presidential candidate would be joining their news network," the Post's Suzi Parker writes today in a post on the She The People blog, titled "Sarah Palin’s plan to reach ‘millions of devoutly religious people’ through al-Jazeera."

So,  the Washington Post piece no longer has the "news" Ms. Parker didn't bother to verify or confirm before reporting and a correction has been placed on top:

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this post and the post’s URL incorrectly reported that Sarah Palin had signed on as a contributor to the Al Jazeera America news network. The blogger cited a report on the Daily Currant Web site as the basis for that information without realizing that the piece was satirical.

Needless to say, many are having a little fun with Wapo and Parker, including bloggers, other media outlets and Sarah Palin herself.

Politico's Dylan Byers- "But Parker's report is a cautionary tale about what can happen when writers cite satirical websites, such as The Daily Currant."

MediaIte's Noah Rothman- " The only problem with Parker’s scoop is that the news of Palin’s move comes from the comedy news site The Daily Currant, which recently published a wide-ranging “interview” with Palin about her lateral career move. The Daily Currant describes itself as “the global satirical newspaper of record.”

CNN's Political Unit points out the two stories the Palin piece was sandwiched between on the satirical site- " The source for the phony blog entry was a parody news website, The Daily Currant, which sandwiched an item on Palin – "Sarah Palin to Join Al Jazeera as Host" – between suspect scoops such as "Glenn Beck Calls 911 After Accidentally Eating Halal Pizza" and "Sean Hannity Says Obama 'Sabotaged' Super Bowl."

Sara Palin herself decided to join in the fun via Twitter:

Evidently Ms. Parker did not appreciate all the attention because she started blocking folks giving her the attention she so richly earned.

MSNBC, Wapo, Huffpo Go To The White House To Get Their Talking Points

MSNBC, Washington Post, Huffington Post and others aren't even attempting to appear like a news organizations anymore, they are the Obama media and are now getting their marching orders openly, directly from the White House.

MSNBC's prime time line-up was spotted entering the West Wing Tuesday afternoon for what host Ed Schultz tweeted was a meeting with President Barack Obama.
White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Josh Earnest released the following statement on the meeting:

“This afternoon at the White House, the President met with influential progressives to talk about the importance of preventing a tax increase on middle class families, strengthening our economy and adopting a balanced approach to deficit reduction.”

They meet, they get their talking points, they go on national television and spew what Obama tells them to spew just like the puppets they are.

A source familiar with the meeting tells Mediaite that MSNBC personalities were only the most recognizable among the attendees, but there were many other “progressive media” members in attendance, including from the Washington Post, Daily Kos, and the Huffington Post.

Video- Maine TV Anchors Resign On The Air, Later Cite Politically 'Unbalanced News'

Forget the resignation letters, for two Maine TV Anchors for ABC affiliate WVII and Fox affiliate WFVX in Bangor for six years, their resignation came on air, live.

Anchors Cindy Michaels (who was also the station's news director) and Tony Consiglio took the last minute of the 6 p.m. broadcast to give a classy goodbye to their viewers.

"Some recent developments have come to our attention, though, and departing together is the best alternative we can take," Consiglio said.

According to an interview with the Bangor Daily News, Michaels revealed that the surprise resignation was the culmination of steadily mounting tensions between the anchors and the station's upper management. It was a situation that Michaels said impaired her ability to deliver the news in a way she was comfortable with.

"It's a culmination of ongoing occurrences that took place the last several years and basically involved upper management practices that we both strongly disagreed with,” Michaels told the paper. "It's a little complicated, but we were expected to do somewhat unbalanced news, politically, in general."

Kudos to them for making a decision based on integrity, although that takes two people out of the newsroom that actually believed in balanced reporting.

U-T San Diego Editorial Board Blasts Obama And Mainstream News For Benghazi Coverup

In the last piece, we showed the Las Vegas Review Journal lambasting the Obama administration for their spin, lies, and "Benghazi blunder."

Well, another editorial this one from the U-T San Diego Editorial Board, takes not only Obama to task, but ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, The New York Times and The Washington Post, as well.

The title of their piece  all in caps is "YOU HAVE THE BLOOD OF AN AMERICAN HERO ON YOUR HANDS," and it goes downhill from there.

What did President Barack Obama know and when did he know it? Why has the Obama administration kept changing its story about how Ambassador Chris Stevens, security officials Tyrone Woods of Imperial Beach and Glen Doherty of Encinitas, and information officer Sean Smith, who grew up in San Diego, died on Sept. 11 in Benghazi, Libya? Why won’t the mainstream media treat the incontrovertible evidence of the White House’s dishonesty and incompetence like the ugly scandal it obviously is?

These are all questions that demand to be answered after revelations that demolished the tidy narrative the president has been offering about Benghazi.

The editorial board goes through the list of emerging details the Obama administration has refused to address, then blasts the mainstream media for not doing their jobs.

It has now been seven weeks since the terrorist attack. We deserve to know the truth. Charles Woods, father of Tyrone Woods, the former Navy SEAL from Imperial Beach, said it best in a Monday TV interview.

“I can’t imagine anyone with any heart that would watch a battle rage for seven hours knowing that heroes were there that were going to be slaughtered if you didn’t have help sent in. ... Whoever it was that was in that room watching that video of my son dying, their cries for help, their order ‘don’t help them at all, let them die’ ... you have the blood of my son, you have the blood of an American hero on your hands. I don’t know who you are, but one of these days the truth will come out.”

The senior Woods is correct. Inevitably, there will be a bipartisan fact-finding commission into this terrible tragedy and its cover-up.

Unless the mainstream media stops abetting the cover-up and the facts come out without a commission wielding subpoena power.

Isn’t this a story – a gigantic story?

Of course. But we fear that ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, The New York Times and The Washington Post will only choose to realize how obvious this is after Nov. 6. Then it will come to them – spontaneously, we’re sure.

I'll repeat what I said at the end of the last piece:

The mainstream media has refused to report the emerging details about the 9/11 attack. the warnings, the classified cables telling the Obama administration the consulate couldn't  withstand a coordinated attack, the denial of help during the attack.... so many details and finally, days after they emerge, local news and reports are doing what the mainstream media is refusing to do.

Informing their readers and viewers of the truth about the gross incompetence of the Obama administration.
 

Las Vegas Review Journal Attacks Obama On Benghazi: Calls Him 'Unworthy' and 'Narcissistic Amateur'

The Las Vegas Review Journal published an editorial today blasting Barack Obama for his "Benghazi blunder," calling Obama an "unworthy commander-in-chief," criticizing Obama's 'weakness" and "dithering", lambasting his campaign trip to Vegas the day after the 9/11 terrorist attack which resulted in the deaths of the U.S. Ambassador to Libya and three other brave Americans.

The editorial also concludes:

These behaviors go far beyond "spin." They amount to a pack of lies. To return to office a narcissistic amateur who seeks to ride this nation's economy and international esteem to oblivion, like Slim Pickens riding the nuclear bomb to its target at the end of the movie "Dr. Strangelove," would be disastrous.

Candidate Obama said if he couldn't fix the economy in four years, his would be a one-term presidency.

Mitt Romney is moral, capable and responsible man. Just this once, it's time to hold Barack Obama to his word. Maybe we can all do something about that, come Tuesday.

The mainstream media has refused to report the emerging details about the 9/11 attack. the warnings, the classified cables telling the Obama administration the consulate couldn't  withstand a coordinated attack, the denial of help during the attack.... so many details and finally, days after they emerge, local news and reports are doing what the mainstream media is refusing to do.

Informing their readers and viewers of the truth about the gross incompetence of the Obama administration.

White House Libya Response: Cover-up Or Incompetence? Is The Media Protecting Obama From Fallout?

Via The Hill, John McCain levels some harsh criticisms against the Obama administration saying that the White House Libya response was either a cover-up or incompetence.

"This is either a massive cover-up or an incompetence that is not acceptable service to the American people," he said on CBS's "Face the Nation."

McCain said that information that has surfaced since the attacks, which claimed the lives of four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens, indicates the narrative provided by the White House in the days following was "patently false."

"There was no demonstration. So for literally days and days they told the American people something that had no basis in fact whatsoever," he said.

The White House initially claimed that the attacks on the consulate in Benghazi were sparked by spontaneous anger over an anti-Muslim film created in the U.S., but later said the attack had been planned and carried out by armed militants.

New details have emerged showing that CIA operators were told to "stand down" and not help the U.S. Ambassador to Libya and his team.

The CIA has denied anyone in the CIA refused help, the Obama administration is denying they denied the help... everyone is denying responsibility.

The major media is also doing their own part to help the Obama administration cover-up the facts, by not reporting the new emerging details to the public, with the exception of a few that are touching on the story but headlining and highlighting the White House denial rather than the emerging information.

The Times is too busy talking up the economy–”U.S. Growth Rate Up to 2%!” “Slow But Steady Improvement!”–and banging away at John Sununu to bother with anything as mundane as national security.

The Washington Post doesn’t seem to have written anything original about the latest allegations, either, although it has prominently featured the administration’s various defensive efforts, for example by highlighting Geraldo Rivera’s criticism of his colleagues at Fox and his urging that any discussion of Benghazi wait until after the election. “Vintage Fox News stuff,” wrote the Post’s Erik Wemple. But of the current controversy the Post has reported nothing, unless it has printed the Associated Press article that appears on its web site.

Since the AP coverage is what the vast majority of newspaper readers will see about the Benghazi story (if they see anything), it is worthy of study. The article that appeared this morning begins not with the allegations that were made on Fox yesterday, but with the administration’s response:

With just over a week left until the presidential election, the MSM appears to have decided it is more important to get Obama reelected than to report the news.

On a side note, in the Cedar Rapids Gazette endorsement for Mitt Romney, they make mention of the possible cover-up.

But where the nation was most in need — restarting the economy and making significant progress on reducing our enormous national debt that recently soared past $16 trillion and dangerously threatens our future well-being — the president and his administration have come up short.

And more recently, the ever-changing account of how his administration has responded to and explained — or hasn’t — the assassination of a U.S. ambassador and three other Americans in Libya is raising troublesome doubts about the chain of command and whether there’s been a cover-up.

 Despite the media's attempt to insulate Obama from the Libya attack fallout, editorials, bloggers and the social media has made sure that the story is being reported, is trickling in to American's homes, via local media, and in the end, the MSM is simply making themselves irrelevant and less trusted.

After inserting herself into the disagreement between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama in the second presidential debate, Candy Crowley then clarified her position later and admitted that Mitt Romney was right in the main and reiterating that the administration blamed a video for two weeks before acknowledging that the attack in Libya which killed four Americans was a terrorist attack.

During the presidential debate, it was found that Crowley interrupted Mitt Romney 28 times, interrupted Barack Obama only 9 times and still managed to give Obama four aditional minutes of speaking time over Romney.

Previous Crowley statements from when Romney chose Paul Ryan as his running mate, made her bias towards Obama and against Romney clear when she called the Ryan/Romney ticket a "ticket death wish."

So it must be galling for her to now have to watch her own statement, calling out the administration on their Libya lies, used in an American Crossroads campaign ad against her candidate Barack Obama.

Major Hat Tip to one of my Daily Reads, Pirate's Cove, for pointing out that it took the Times of Israel to report what American media should have but didn't as they continue to cover Obama's ass time and time again.

The US Embassy in Cairo issued a terrorist threat warning on Friday stating there are credible threats of terrorists targeting female U.S. missionaries.

The Embassy has credible information suggesting terrorist interest in targeting U.S. female missionaries in Egypt. Accordingly, U.S. citizens should exercise vigilance, taking necessary precautions to maintain their personal security. U.S. citizens are advised to maintain valid travel documents. U.S. citizens living or traveling abroad are encouraged to enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP). U.S. citizens without internet access may enroll directly at any U.S. Embassy or Consulate. By enrolling, U.S. citizens make it easier for the Embassy or Consulate to contact them in case of emergency.

As of right now on a Google News search there are only three mentions of this terror warning against U.S. female missionaries in Egypt, one by the AFP, Times of Israel and Ahram Online.

Kirsten Powers, Democrat, recently said that if the media doesn't start doing their jobs they would be complicit in another terrorist attack on America and as William Teach from Pirate's Cove asks, "Is it any wonder that Pat Caddell says that “the media have become the enemy of the American People”?

The Obama media is so busy trying to cover Obama's ass that they are not doing their jobs, they are not informing Americans of the news, of potential attacks, or of credible threats against Americans and America.

Here is another question, "Is it any wonder that American's distrust in media has hit new highs in September, with 60 percent now saying they have little or no trust in the mass media to report the news fully, accurately, and fairly?"

Gallup: 60% Distrust Media, 47% See Liberal Bias, 13% See Conservative Bias

The headline is the big news but delving into the little tidbits in the Gallup releases, shows that not only do 60 percent  say they have little or no trust in the mass media to report the news fully, accurately, and fairly, but Democrats are the only ones that show a majority (58%) trusting the media. Only 26 percent of Republicans and 31 percent of Independents trust the mainstream media.

Further down in the first release shows Republicans, despite trusting the media the least, continue to pay close attention to the news about national politics, to be informed, with Independents and Democrats being less likely than Republicans to be paying close attention, with their levels of attention similar to 2008 and 2004.

The next Gallup release is more indicative of why distrust of the media has hit the highest levels.

60 percent of Americans see media bias, with 47 percent saying they see liberal media bias and only 13 percent seeing conservative media bias.

50 percent of Independents see liberal bias and 75 percent of Republicans, but only 20 percent of Democrats perceive a liberal media bias.

57 percent of Democrats think the media coverage is just about right, with only 32 percent of Independents seeing the same and 20 percent of Republicans think coverage is about right.

20 percent of Democrats see conservative bias in the media, but only 13 percent of Independents and 4 percent of Republicans see conservative media bias.

Liberal, Media Hypocrisy: Akin Rape Comment 3,500+ Stories, Gauthier Sex With 17 Yr Old, 175 Stories

Media hypocrisy and liberal bias is on full display today.

Two men, different party affiliations, both House Representatives, and Google news searches, show an overwhelming tilted focus on the Republican Rep. with barely a drop in the bucket on the Democratic Rep.

Todd Akins, the Republican, makes a boneheaded comment about "legitimate rape" and the media, liberals and conservatives give him a massive amount of hell for it, rightly so. Google news search using the key words "Todd Akin" produces 3,551 news articles, according to the Google search page.

Kerry Gauthier, the Democrat, has oral sex with a 17 year old boy behind a rest stop pavilion in Duluth after the teen responded to Gauthier’s Craigslist ad looking for a “no strings attached” sex.

Google news search using the key words "Kerry Gauthier" produces 175 news articles, according to the Google search page.

A few more noteworthy points here.

• The incident with Gauthier was reported  5 days ago, August 16, 2012, so by rights should have had more exposure, more news articles, since Akin's controversial comments swept the media headlines on Sunday and Monday, August 19-20, 2012 and continues to dominate political headlines today.

•  DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Shultz and liberal media personalities attempted to tie Romney to Akin's remarks and demanded he denounce Akin's stupid comments, which he did immediately by calling them offensive, insulting and more.

• No media personality in searches has been found that attempts to tie Obama to Gauthier nor asked him to denounce having sex with a 17 year old boy.

• Obama made a rare White House press corp availability and took a few questions and declared "rape is rape" weighing in on  Akins remarks, which happened days after the news broke about Gauthier, but there is absolutely no mention, anywhere, of Obama denouncing nor making a public statement about behavior unbecoming to a Representative in conjunction to Gauthier having oral sex with a 17 year old boy.

This is the difference on how anything done by a Republican gets reported on compared to how the media reports on Democrats and the same type of hypocrisy is displayed by the liberal blogosphere and pundits.

Outsports And BuzzFeed Anti-Heterosexual Publications

SNARK ALERT!!!!

Another pet peeve..... I see Buzzfeed headlining "21 openly gay athletes of the 2012 Olympics" and Outsports touting  "23 openly gay and lesbian athletes" at the 2012 Olympics".

What I do not see is any headline from either publication touting 12,000+ openly heterosexual athletes at the 2012 Olympics.

Is there a specific reason why openly gay athletes are being highlighted but BuzzFeed and Outsports are prejudiced against the 12,000 plus non-gay athletes and not spotlighting them?

Using liberal's logic that would mean that both Outsport and BuzzFeed are openly anti-heterosexual, wouldn't it?

Question to ponder is: Why do BuzzFeed and Outsports hate heterosexual people?

Did The New York Times Change Their Headline And Article Wording To Protect Obama On Amnesty Decision?

[Update] Reminder of the Republicans' messaging on Obama's amnesty decision:

It would be nice if the president was as concerned about the 23 million Americans looking for work in America as he is about the 12 million undocumented individuals the president claims are looking for work in America," Rep. Ted Poe (R-Texas) added.

While writing the previous piece I ran across a New York Times article which had a changed headline after publishing and changed content within the article and it made me question whether those changes were made to protect Barack Obama after his controversial decision to grant amnesty to 800,000 illegal immigrants and offer them indefinite work permits here in the United States.

Original Headline from New York Times, dated June 18, 2012:  Many American Workers are Underemployed And Underpaid". NYT changed that headline to "Lost in Recession, Toll on Underemployed and Underpaid."
