Michigan Teacher Poses In Front Of Misspelled Sign- Only 7% Detroit 8th Graders Read At Grade Level

By Susan Duclos

In the midst of the ongoing Right-to-Work vs Pay-to-Work battle going on in Michigan where it is unions, Obama, Democrats against Michigan lawmakers (for details I have written about that issue here and here) I see two headlines that simply have to be highlighted.

The first headline, Twitchy: "Michigan teacher poses in front of misspelled anti- ‘Synder’ sign.
(Sign above should read "Snyder" not "Synder")

The second headline, CNS: "Only 7% of Detroit Public-School 8th Graders Proficient in Reading"

In the public schools in Detroit, Mich., according to the U.S. Department of Education, only 7 percent of the eighth graders are grade-level proficient or better in reading.

Cause and Effect?

[Update] Bonus stupidity!!!  "26,000 Michigan Students Sent Home From School So Teachers Can Protest.

Michigan Capitol Confidential: At least 26,000 children will miss school today because their teachers called in sick or took a vacation day to protest proposed right-to-work legislation, which is expected to pass today.

You simply can't make this stuff up!
