The Technorati 'Bug'- Blogs Not Updating, Authority Lost

By Susan Duclos

Technorati has been dealing with some issues since, September when a number of bloggers, including myself, noticed Technorati was not updating our recent posts at all.

The Technorati representative that has been working with the bloggers whose blogs have been affected, has kept close track, explained the fluid situation with constant updates over on Technorati's Get Satisfaction blog.

Cecilia Pizarras, the representative, forwarded our URL's to their technical teams, explained there was a bug found and worked on, and many of us saw our posts being updated just recently, once, then they stopped updating again. We also noticed that even after the initial fix, which has stopped working again, our authority that was built over months and in some case years, was gone.

Listing the ongoing problems here is not being done as a complaint because Technorati is a free service and the problem has been addressed and is being worked on and the customer service provided by Cecilia, who is catching the flack in the thread, has been immediate and constant.

At the moment there are 37 participants in the discussion on the Get Satisfaction blog, 77 replies.

If you are a blogger that uses Technorati to find those linking to you or to see what topics are hot at the moment and have noticed this problem, then you can leave your URL at the link above to have it addressed.
