Polls Shows Majority Agree With Obama in 2009, He 'Will Be Held Accountable'

By Susan Duclos

Flashback to Obama in 2009 where he says "I will be held accountable' then continued on to state "If I don't have this done in three years, then there is gonna be a one-term proposition."

That was in 2009, over three years later, polling conducted by Pulse Opinion Research for The Hill shows that 66 percent believe the "paltry job growth and slow economic recovery is the result of bad policy."

This is consistent with poll averages, from a variety of polling organizations, that show over 62 percent of Americans believe the country is heading in the wrong direction.

The "Blame Bush" mentality of the first few years, which was prevalent because Obama did inherit an economic mess, has turned into "Blame Obama" by more respondents since Obama has had nearly four years, two of which his party held the majority in both the House of Representatives and the Senate, which rubber stamped almost all of his policies and agenda, and those policies have not garnered an economic recovery.

Thirty-four percent say Obama is the most to blame, followed by 23 percent who say Congress is the culprit. Twenty percent point the finger at Wall Street, and 18 percent cite former President George W. Bush.

The most important number Obama is facing is that 53 percent of likely voters believe Obama "has  taken the wrong actions and has slowed the economy down." Only 42 percent his policies were the correct ones.

This poll confirms the data of a devastating CBS/New York Times poll which showed only only 39 percent approved of Obama's economic performance with over 60 percent putting at least some of the responsibility on Obama's shoulders and 34 percent placing "significant" blame directly on Obama.

In that poll, 52 percent of Independents believe Obama will "never improve" the economy.

This explains why his administration has taken actions to delay the massive Medicare cuts that are part of Obamacare, until after the 2012  presidential election. It also why Obama is attempting to get Sequestration pinks slips delayed until after the election. Furthermore, it explains why the most egregious of taxes written into Obamacare are not due to hit Americans until 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2018.

With six months left of Obama's four year term in the White House, likely voters are finally pointing to Obama and indicating they do not think he has done the job that needed to be done and do not think he will be able to do so in the future.
