DeMint's Senate Conservatives Fund Spends $5.2 Million On Senate Republican Candidates

In early October we showed reports of Senator Jim DeMint's (R-S.C.) Senate Conservatives Fund planned campaign push against Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (Nev.) and other Democratic colleagues.

Today we find out DeMint has put his money where his mouth is and has contributed over $5.2 million to 14 Senate candidates, via WSJ. (Note, according to the Senate Conservatives Fund website, that is $5.3 million)

The Senate Conservatives Fund, headed by Sen. Jim DeMint (R., S.C.), announced that it has contributed more than $5.2 million to 14 Republican Senate candidates this campaign season, almost all of them backed by tea party activists and opposed to compromise on fiscal and social principles.

List below from the Senate Conservative Fund investments page:

Pat Toomey (PA) = $264,687

Marco Rubio (FL) = $549,648

Ken Buck (CO) = $740,682

Rand Paul (KY) = $206,841

Mike Lee (UT) = $289,165

Sharron Angle (NV) = $594,454

Ron Johnson (WI) = $161,654

Dino Rossi (WA) = $231,537

Joe Miller (AK) = $405,175

Christine O'Donnell (DE) = $431,173

As I stated in an earlier post, the odds of the GOP taking the Senate are not high, but the more seats the GOP does manage to take the less likelihood of the Democrats being able to take straight party line votes and jamming them through the Senate.
