Stupidity Of The Day: Tell Air Marshal You Are Trying To Light Your Shoe On Fire

I am not sure if sarcasm, stupidity or outright idiocy is the appropriate word for what a Qatari diplomat did on an airplane.

Original stories implied some type of foiled terror attack, then following stories clarified there was no bomb, just a moron who obviously thought it amusing to tell an Air Marshal who smelled smoke from a bathroom, that he was just "trying to light his shoe on fire".

FBI agents say no explosives were found in the shoes of a Qatar diplomat who was subdued by federal air marshals on a United flight to Denver Wednesday night after allegedly telling the marshals, "I'm lighting my shoes on fire."

Authorities say the diplomat was wrestled to the ground and two F-16 fighter jets were dispatched to accompany the 757 on the final five minutes of its flight to Denver. Flight 663 originated from Washington Reagan airport.

Who pays for those F-16's? Who pays for the fact that the passengers on the plane had to be frightened, or better phrasing, terrorized because of a bad joke?

Obviously no one since no charges will be filed against this moron Mohammed al-Madadi.

Stupidity of the day.
