Al Gore Endorses Barack Obama

Earlier it was reported that Barack Obama and Al Gore would be stepping onto the stage together today for some announcement. Al Gore's blog states that the announcement is his endorsement of Barack Obama.
Earlier reports about Barack Obama and Al Gore appearing together fueled speculation about a possible offer of the vice presidency for Al Gore, but more recent reports show that Al Gore is just endorsing Obama for the presidency.

From Gore's blog, and an email announcement he sent to supporters:

A few hours from now I will step on stage in Detroit, Michigan to announce my support for Senator Barack Obama. From now through Election Day, I intend to do whatever I can to make sure he is elected President of the United States.

The two men will appear at the Joe Louis Arena in downtown Detroit and will be the first time they will appear together on the same stage.

Appearing in Michigan together highlights the difficulties Barack Obama has in Michigan where many voters feel disenfranchised from the ruling of the Democratic Rules and ByLaws Committee, regarding the Michigan delegates where Hillary Clinton won the state and Barack Obama had his name removed from the ticket and yet the R & B Committee gave Barack Obama 59 delegates from that state.

Many have expressed a deep seated anger and this endorsement from Al Gore, done in Michigan, is being speculated to be specifically geared to bring those angry voters back into the fold.
