Man Finds Guns and Ammunition In His Daughters Treehouse

Imagine going to tidy up your child's treehouse and finding three guns, ammunition, ear plugs and empty Crown Royal bag wrapped in a bed sheet inside.
Thomas O'Connell who lives in East Englewood, Florida, found just that when he climbed up to his daughter's treehouse to clean up.

He grabbed up the items, called the police and according to police the man had found "a Jennings Bryco 9mm pistol, identified by serial number, was stolen Dec. 7, 2007, from a home on Coliseum Boulevard in Port Charlotte. A Hi-Point 9mm carbine rifle with serial number was not listed as missing, but a Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun with no visible serial number was sawed off with only a pistol grip."

Not only that but wrapped in the sheet was a plastic bag with 343 rounds of 22-caliber long rifle ammunition and another plastic bag with 94 rounds of 9mm ammo...add to that a couple folding knives, ear plugs, cigar wrappers and an empty Crown Royal liquor bag.

The man was last in that treehouse on April 13, 2008.

Now word on the last time the daughter was in there.

The sheriff’s office is asking that anyone with information please call the CCSO at 941-639-2101; or Crime Stoppers at 800-780-TIPS (8477).
