Mike Gravel, Democratic Presidential Candidate: Safer to "Trip" on Marijuana

We don't hear much about Mike Gravel, in fact, many do not even know he is a Democratic Presidential Candidate and perhaps, just possibly, it is a good thing we don't hear from him often or in any quantity if his latest reported comments, via The Swamp (Chicago Tribune), and WMUR are accurate.

We already knew that Gravel would like to see pot legalized, his own website shows his positions on the subject clearly, but to tell a group of high school students at Phillips Exeter Academy, that marijuana is safer than alcohol, while marijuana is against the law and alcohol is not, shows a lack of respect for law.

"Alcohol is a heck of a lot worse than marijuana, and I'm sure a lot of you have tripped out on alcohol. It's a lot safer to do it on marijuana."

Whether you agree with the law or not, encouraging children to break the law is irresponsible, especially for a Presidential candidate.

If you want to change the laws, by all means, work to do so in a legal manner.

Via The Swamp:

As if that wasn't enough, according to a tape of the appearance shown by WMUR-TV in New Hampshire, Gravel advised, "And with respect to other drugs, if you've got a problem with coke, go to a doctor, get a prescription and get it filled at a drug store.

According to WMUR, Gravel told the high school students that buying drugs legally will help them stay away from becoming a criminal.

Unbelievable.
