Many of us have suspected these truths since the early days of COVID hysteria in the spring of 2020. There were enough facts floating around in the public square to recognize that the virus had most likely emerged from a Chinese laboratory in Wuhan and that the Wuhan lab had received financial support from Fauci’s directed allocation of U.S. taxpayer funds. Six years ago, those of us who wrote about these facts were called “conspiracy theorists” and “right-wing nutjobs.” We were censored, demonetized, and targeted for Internet “cancellation.” Today, everything we wrote back then has proven to be right.
What has been the reaction of the “venerable” news reporters from The New York Times, The Washington Post, Fox News, CNN, NBC, ABC, or CBS? So far, I have seen little to no reaction at all. It is as if one of the biggest news stories of this century is being entirely ignored. The sharp-tongued James Woods commented on the absurd silence: “The Director of National Intelligence has just reported that Anthony Fauci funded a bioweapons lab in China in the creation of the COVID pandemic that killed millions. ABC has crack reporter Jonathan Karl headlining an algae story.” The corporate news media would rather talk about repairs to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool than acknowledge that U.S. public health officials and spies were directly responsible for COVID, as well as a global propaganda campaign orchestrated to cover up their culpability.
For fifteen years or more, the American, British, and European Deep States have been indoctrinating their respective populations about the dangers of “disinformation.” Effectively, Western governments have been laying a foundation in the social consciousness to support these points of view: (1) Foreign adversaries are engaging in information warfare against Western citizens. (2) Therefore, Western governments must be empowered to regulate what is “true.”
The first point is certainly correct. Foreign governments use propaganda to influence and even undermine Western societies. The second point, however, is a “solution” that is far worse than the recognized problem. Why? Because Western governments engage in information warfare, too. Western espionage agencies use propaganda not only to influence and undermine foreign governments but also to influence domestic populations and undermine domestic dissent.
Therefore, empowering Western governments to censor public debate and arbitrate what is true or false gives Western spies license to engage in information warfare against Western citizens whenever Western governments deem propaganda campaigns against the public necessary for advancing their own interests.
Fully armed with the privilege of lying to Western citizens, Western governments told us many COVID whoppers, including: (1) The virus naturally evolved and came from a wet market. (2) It was an order of magnitude more lethal than seasonal flu. (3) Masks; church, school, and business closures; home confinement; six-foot human separation; restrictions on travel; isolation of ill or dying loved ones from their families; a general moratorium on funerals; and other arbitrary and capricious social distancing guidelines would prevent the spread of the virus. (4) Natural immunity was ineffective. (5) The experimental mRNA injections were effective “vaccines.” (6) The experimental mRNA injections would prevent infection, illness, and death. (7) Children and healthy adults must be forced to receive the experimental mRNA injections, even though they are not likely to become seriously ill or die from the COVID virus. (8) Any death that could be linked to an mRNA injection must be treated as a death due to the COVID virus.
These are just a few of the many lies Western governments told their citizens. It was one of the greatest mass deceptions ever committed by Western governments against their own peoples. It was, in other words, a widespread disinformation campaign against the public.
Accompanying the release of formerly classified documents proving that Fauci had a hand in creating the COVID virus as well as directing the cover-up of his involvement, former DNI Gabbard stated: “The COVID-19 pandemic caused tremendous hardship and pain for millions of our fellow Americans and for countless people around the world. After years of lies, censorship, and cover ups, the American people deserve transparency, truth, and accountability.” Even though these explosive revelations have come from the highest-ranking Intelligence officer in the U.S. government, the corporate news media has remained nearly silent.
Republican Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin has been dogged in his attempts to expose the injuries and deaths linked to the experimental mRNA injections marketed as COVID “vaccines.” Last week, Johnson published a report showing how nearly 40,000 people died after receiving the mRNA injections. Senator Johnson alleges that federal health officials intentionally hid “vaccine” dangers from the public. He states declaratively: “I consider this to be the biggest government scandal in my lifetime, and one that is crying out for full media attention and coverage.”
What has been the response from the major corporate news powerhouses? Crickets. Senator Johnson was forced to publish his damning report on X because, “The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post, USA TODAY, and Fox Digital have all declined or ignored requests to publish this op-ed.” NBC, ABC, PBS, CNN, and MS NOW also refused to address his report. The corporate news media — which regularly pats itself on the back for “speaking truth to power” — appears to be complicit in the government’s COVID propaganda campaign.
Over at The Conservative Treehouse, researcher extraordinaire Sundance has an article that organizes all of Gabbard’s COVID declassifications under the headline, “DNI Tulsi Gabbard Releases Evidence Anthony Fauci Manipulated Intelligence and Lied to Congress.” The first sentence of Sundance’s article gets straight to the point: “The central question remains, and unfortunately it is a question that cannot be answered except by dropping all pretenses. That question is: Was the SARS-CoV-2 release ‘accidental’ or done with ‘intent’.” Calling the Intelligence Community’s propaganda efforts “control mitigation” and an “after action” operation to influence the public’s perception, Sundance reminds readers that we still don’t know whether one or more intelligence agencies or militaries planned and executed the global health emergency.
We do know that 2020 was a presidential election year in the United States, and shutting down the country produced a number of immediate effects: (1) America’s robust economic growth halted. (2) Americans experienced a once-in-a-lifetime national emergency that continued through the election. (3) President Trump, well known for traveling the country and speaking to large audiences, was prevented from holding any election rallies. (4) Presidential nominee Joe Biden, a man who had never received more than single-digit support in prior runs for the White House and whose public speaking skills have always been subpar, ran for office from the finished basement of his Delaware home. (5) Using the excuse of the COVID “health emergency,” Democrat attorneys convinced state judges to permit extraordinary changes to existing election law, including the introduction of mass mail-in-ballots on an unprecedented scale.
The end result was that the perennially unpopular Joe Biden became the most popularly “elected” president in the history of the United States — besting “rock star” Barack Obama’s re-election numbers by fifteen million votes and MAGA-man Donald Trump’s 2024 re-election numbers by four million votes!

A new lawsuit Amarante v. Immigration and Customs Enforcement docket # 1:26-cv-02039 was filed in District Court, District of Columbia on June 9, 2026 about ICE-ERO Attorney Watchlist Database where an immigration attorney sued ICE over allegations that the agency maintains a secret watchlist of immigration attorneys. The lawsuit seeks the following relief:

Antifa cell leader Benjamin Song was sentenced to 100 years in prison Tuesday for a 2025 terrorist attack on an immigration facility.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) sentenced Song and seven others involved in the July 4, 2o25, attack on a Texas Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility Tuesday, according to multiplereports. These charges stemmed from the first U.S. terrorism case against accused Antifa members — after President Donald Trump had labeled the far-left group a domestic terrorist organization in September 2025.
In March, a jury convicted the group of eight for its role in the attack and convicted Song of attempted murder after a 12-day trial. The other seven people convicted in the trial besides Song face prison sentences ranging from 30 to 70 years, according to CBS News.
The Independence Day attack took place late at night when Song, a former Marine Corps Reservist, and his accomplices arrived dressed in all black, according to a March press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas. Some members of the group also attended a peaceful protest against the ICE detention center without their gear earlier that day before arriving again with the gear at night.
The Antifa cell brought 11 firearms and body armor with them to protest the center, according to the press release. The group shot fireworks at the facility and vandalized cars and a guard shack.
A police officer who responded to the scene began giving commands to an Antifa cell member when Song yelled, “get to the rifles!” which the release noted was heard on a police bodycam. Song then opened fire, shooting the police officer in the neck while unarmed correctional officers “ducked and ran for cover.”
The nine defendants who went to trial over the demonstration racked up 65 charges between them, according to CBS News. The charges include attempted murder, aiding terrorists and weapons charges. One defendant, Ines Soto, is awaiting sentencing set on July 1.
Song, who was previously on Texas’ “Most Wanted Fugitive” list, hid in a forest after the violent protest, the Daily Caller News Foundation reported in February. While most of the other Antifa cell members were arrested that night, Song hid for 11 days. He was finally found in a supporter’s apartment in Dallas on July 15.
The defense argued that the group did not plan for violence that night, and that Antifa is an ideology, not an organization, according to past DCNF reporting.
Earlier this year, leftist groups condemned the convictions and came together to raise money and support for the Antifa members convicted for the July 4 attack.

I’d like to use Father’s Day to make a humble request: Let’s bring back the patriarchy. Whatever we currently have just isn’t working.
Empowering an odd collection of feminazis, soy boys, pronoun people, emotional nutcases, women pretending to be men, and men pretending to be women has produced a dysfunctional world that makes no sense. We’ve got gays celebrating Muslim jihadists who throw gays off buildings for sport. We’ve got “Me Too” pink-hat-ladies defending pedophiles and rapists from decorated military veterans now serving as ICE agents. We have male Democrat Party politicians harnessed with strange contraptions that allow them to “breastfeed” adopted babies. We have Hillary Clinton clones wearing pantsuits and using the lowest register of their vocal chords to bark orders in the most raspy, gruff, masculine voice they can muster.
I remember when Hillary Clinton and other female politicians used to stare up at the stars just beyond the glass ceiling and wistfully ponder, “What a wonderful world it would be if only women were in charge.” Even before the cancerous Clintons rented out the Lincoln Bedroom, traded military secrets for Chinese campaign contributions, and built a money laundering operation disguised as a family charity, it had become quite common for the chattering class to go all twinkly-eyed on television as corporate news mouthpieces told the public that wars would probably end once women were running things.
In 2026, does anybody believe women are the missing link to global peace? Have you seen those Minneapolis harpies screaming in the faces of ICE agents? And that coven of Cloward-Piven communists hail from a state so broadly admired for its distinctive generosity and graciousness that the rest of us once fondly described its spirit as “Minnesota nice.” “Nice” does not come to mind when I watch videos of angry women running over federal agents with their cars, blocking officers from arresting violent illegal aliens, and yelling all manner of profanities at guys and gals who risk their lives to keep Americans safe.
If the women of America’s “nicest” state can be so venomous, just imagine the unholy scenes of female madness that erupt outside of a New York City Chick-fil-A when a young employee politely says, “Thank you, sir,” to a bearded man in a dress who demands to be addressed as a “Ma’am.” Women jump on tables and start throwing things faster than J.B. Pritzker and Chris Christie tag-team-devouring a buffet. (Notabene: Never suggest to a woman ransacking a restaurant that she behave as a lady; such suggestions produce the opposite result.)
As I’ve watched women ascend the political hierarchy, take over corporate boards, colonize the university campus, and fill up the arts, music, and entertainment spaces with some of the raunchiest content in my lifetime, my thoughts have not drifted toward the conclusion that the world will heal and all will be well once women are firmly in control of everything. On the contrary, I fear that — much like Slim Pickens riding a nuclear bomb as if he were busting a bronco — we’ll have a future female president twerking atop the Resolute Desk as she disposes of foes as if they were cheating exes. The “girl boss” routine that fills up most books, movies, and television shows these days makes me think that the future-is-female contingent prefer picking fights and then sitting back as discarded members of the “patriarchy” are called to defend the instigators from their own provocations. “Girl power” apparently means being supported by strong men who obey. It might be a good time for everyone to brush up on the basics of “duck and cover.”
Say what you will about “toxic masculinity,” but when boys grow up learning how to take and throw a punch, they become men capable of both aggression and restraint. You don’t have to get hit in the face too many times before figuring out a few things: (1) Don’t start what you can’t finish. (2) Not every personal slight requires a response. The art of compromise is practiced best by those who have witnessed firsthand the cost of conflict. When fighting and warring are dismissed as unnecessary aberrations arising from “dangerous” masculinity, vital human lessons are never learned. Being a leader is not about shouting orders; it is about putting yourself in harm’s way enough times to learn the safest passage through future hardship. Successful leaders are not anointed; they struggle and keep moving forward until everyone else is following.
Masculinity is about far more than physicality or force. It’s about the willingness to use one’s strength to protect a wife, family, community, and country. Building bigger muscles means nothing if those muscles are just “for show.” Strengthening the body and mind is masculine only when done with the aim of becoming a better man. Violence untethered from moral constraint and wisdom is evil. However, when strong men obey God and use their gifts to protect others, masculine virtue is invaluable.
Protecting others means that masculinity is sacrifice. It is a willingness to put yourself between a loved one and a threat. It is a recognition that you will give everything you have — including your life — to shield those under your protection. It is an acceptance that, although you will not win every fight, you will fight, regardless.
Whatever kind of society we currently have, it is certainly not a patriarchy. We have far too many children growing up without fathers. We have far too many men who say and do nothing as evil men do evil things. We have far too many men who have chosen to leave society behind rather than defend it. They have been called names. They have been told that they are culpable for every bad thing that has ever happened. They are described as redundant or even anachronistic in the modern family. Television shows and movies depict them as stupid, boorish, privileged, unwanted, unneeded, and easily replaceable.
Western societies that have rejected masculine virtue produce the same natural result: Everything breaks. Families stop functioning properly. Neighborhoods are overrun with crime and violence. Communities turn into bickering tribes. Love of country is replaced with self-hate. Personal sacrifice fades.
What happens when men stop building, protecting, and sacrificing for the countries that they call home? Barbarians breach the gates. Countries get conquered. Innocents die. Towns vanish. Mass invasion does not succeed simply because the United Nations, the European Union, and the political Establishments of Britain and the United States prefer to sow chaos and make money from open borders. Invasion succeeds because men have disappeared.
Right now, unfortunately, too many men have been cowed into silence. Those calling themselves “men” spend their energies defending “transgender” predators who hunt inside women’s restrooms and child sex-slavers who hide behind the virtue-signaling smokescreens of mass amnesty advocates. When masculine virtue dries up, the wolves start preying on the weak.
There’s only one way out of this mess: We must bring back the patriarchy. Men must be roused from their slumbers and reminded what’s at stake. They must do the hard things once again no matter how much civilization’s destroyers complain. This century-long experiment of demonizing, removing, and replacing men has failed.
What happens next will not be for the faint of heart. In fact, bringing back order to a society addicted to chaos will require more heart than most men have ever used. But it’s the only way to save the West from those who wish to put it in the ground. It will require men who are willing to be called horrible names while they protect others. It will require men with calluses, purpose, and restraint. It will require men of courage, sacrifice, strength, and honor. These men will not be appreciated by everyone alive today. They will, however, be remembered by every generation that follows.

On June 21, 2026, the White House published the Presidential Message on Father’s Day (last discussed in my June 14, 2025 ANP Article) honoring the men who are the backbone of our families and the strength of our Republic. President Trump writes:
The American father has always stood as the most enduring pillar of our Nation. He provides for his family through hard work, personal sacrifice, and an unrelenting refusal to quit. He protects his loved ones and his home with an unshakable resolve, and he defends the American way of life by raising children who love our country, honor our history, and carry our proud traditions with them into the future. On June 22, 2026, the White House published the release President Trump Drives Down Rents by Ending Open Borders Disaster provides charts showing the drop in rents from what they are calling the "Biden-Era Peaks" across the nation showing the decline in rent prices across major metro areas and a National average decrease of 4.4%.
When you look at the decline in net international migration into these major metro cities, you can see why there is a massive drop with a 54.7% drop nationally. More housing is becoming available as illegal aliens are being sent back to their own country (or any country willing to take them).
The release concludes:
When America controls its borders and enforces its laws, American workers and families win — on housing, wages, and quality of life.
This clearly shows the impact of illegal aliens on our rental economy. I am sure we will see an equivalent drop in the strain on schools, hospitals, social services, SNAP, and other programs as illegal aliens are removed from the rolls. Then add in the 'savings' involved in stopping the fraud in government programs and we will find ourselves on the long road to recovery. Unfortunately, government programs that expanded to serve the illegal aliens are not being reduced commensurately. Nor are taxes that funded the expansions being reduced.
On June 22, 2026, President Trump signed the EO Ushering in the Next Frontier of Quantum Innovation for Quantum Information Science and Technology (QIST).
Before I start describing the EO, I want to point out there is an error in that the title of the actual EO posted on the White House website reads "EXECUTIVE ORDER 14411" while the Actual EO 14411 Strengthening Customs Enforcement was signed June 3, 2026, published in the Federal Register (FR) on June 10, 2026 (originally discussed in my June 4, 2026 ANP Article and noted in my June 11, 2026 ANP Article when it was published in the FR).
This EO is based on the National Quantum Initiative Act (HR6622) that President Trump signed into law in 2018. This bill was introduced by Lamar Smith (R-TX-21) on June 26, 2018. The bill had 36 cosponsors.

Section 1 - Purpose -
To take a cohesive, whole-of-government approach to accelerate deployment and commercialization of quantum computing, sensing, and networking in order to remain ahead of other nations while protecting sensitive technologies and working with allies to keep adversaries from using QIST to undermine US National Security
Section 2 - Policy -
To maintain a strategic technical advantage while leading the development of a robust and trusted quantum ecosystem (research, manufacturing, commercialization, and application) in QIST
Section 3 - Updating the National Quantum Strategy -
Within 180 days, updated Strategies to support the maturing QIST ecosystem will be generated to promote commercialization and deployment of QIST, support quantum-enabling technology system, and encouraging partnerships with US industries
Within 30 days of the publication of the updated Strategy, a summary of steps taken to align processes, policies, and programs within the Strategy shall be submitted by all relevant executive departments and agencies to the Assistant to the President for Science and Technology (APST) and Director of OMB
Section 4 - Harnessing Quantum Computing for Scientific Applications -
Establishes the Quantum Computer for Applications Development and Discover Science (QC-ADDS) Effort which will be coordinated by the APST to pursue development of a quantum computer with intent to deliver at least one such computer to the Department of Energy while also making it available to the scientific community
Ensure relevant capabilities, manufacturing infrastructure, and expertise are made available to support QC-ADDS effort
Within 90 days technical specifications will be identified for the QC-ADDS to perform transformative scientific applications beyond current capabilities. Specs shall be released as appropriate
Within 180 days, private-sector partnership models will be explored to discover potential cost, scope, and time frame delivery for at least one QC-ADDS
Within 180 days, provide for robust assessment of quantum computing systems capabilities:
A national center to develop tools and capabilities required to accurately assess the performance of quantum computing systems will be established.
A mechanism to facilitate information sharing between relative agencies will be developed.
Identify national security implications of the increasing scale and performance of commercial quantum computers.
Section 5 - Deploying Quantum-Enabled Sensors and Networks -
Within 60 days,
Identify at least 3 next-generation quantum sensor projects (by September 30, 2028) and
Create 5-year plans for quantum sensing and networking in relevant agencies
Section 6 - Bolstering the Domestic Ecosystem for Quantum Supply Chains -
Agencies shall develop plans to strengthen their QIST systems
Within 120 days agencies will encourage and partner with the private sector (potentially using prize challenges or advance market commitments) to develop quantum-enabling component tech as well as identify needed changes to statutory or regulatory authorities
Agencies shall share info regarding quantum computing supply chains
Within 180 days
Increase domestic access to Department of War sponsored QIST relevant foundry resources
Issue grants for establishing QIST user facilities
Within 210 days
Recommend revised NQWIAC membership list

Ensure QIST activities and policies maintain robust and balanced security controls to safeguard critical info and protect national security interests

Section 8 - Expanding and Retaining the Quantum Workforce -
Within 90 days, develop a recruitment and retention strategy (include special pay rates and increased limits for recruitment and retention incentives)
Within 120 days, ensure QIST-relevant employment needs are prioritized
Within 120 days, develop an approach to tracking labor statistics for QIST-relevant-occupations, skills, and credentials
Within 180 days, promote expansion of post-secondary training opportunities and develop a network of National QIST Workforce Development Institutes to enhance training opportunities and coordinate training efforts across Federal, State, and local agencies
Section 9 - Engaging with International Partners -
Ensure US companies have access to strategic markets and capital from like-minded countries
Maintain access to trusted supply chains
Prevent countries of concern from acquiring critical quantum-enabling technologies
Promote and enhance research and development collaboration and the flow of people and ideas across like-minded countries in support of the interests of the US
Develop, promote, and coordinate effective quantum research and technology protection
Address foreign trade barriers, discriminatory treatment, and other policies that limit competitiveness of American QIST companies
Within 120 days recommendations on how to align existing bilateral and multilateral international engagements to advance the priorities of this order will be provided
Section 10 - Reports -
All reports shall be submitted to the President in the manner and timeframes indicated above.

It is the policy of the United States to safeguard national security and maintain technological leadership by responsibly and effectively executing the transition of Federal information systems to National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)-approved Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) for Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), and to assist critical infrastructure owners and operators with their transitions
Section 2 - Definitions -
This section defines the terms: agency, critical infrastructure, high impact system, high value asset (HVA), information systems, National Security Systems, post-Quantum cryptography (PQC), PQC migration lead, Cryptographic Module Validation Program, digital signature, and key establishment
Section 3 - Coordinating the PQC Transition -
Provide strategic coordination and oversight of the National PQC migration policy and strategy of this order and alignment with broader cybersecurity goals
Provide agencies with comprehensive tech guidance on PQC implementation on an ongoing basis

Within 30 days each agency head shall identify its PQC migration leand

Cost-saving opportunities in implementing a national PQC migration policy and strategy shall be identified
Within 180 days processes used by the Cryptographic Module Validation Program shall be revised
Within 180 days a proposed rule to amend the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) to required covered contractors to comply with NIST's FIPS by December 31, 2030 shall be proposed
Within 270 days a rule amending the FAR requirements and contract clauses for contractor vulnerability disclosure programs shall be proposed

In the lawsuit California v. Noem docket # 1:25-cv-13829 filed in District Court, D. Massachusetts on December 12, 2025 about H-1B Visa Program Changes where a coalition of states sued the Trump administration over the changes to the H-1B visa program which would require the employers of workers on a H-1B visa to pay the federal government $100,000. The original lawsuit sought the following relief:
Declare that the Policy is unlawful because it exceeds the executive branch’s constitutional and statutory authority;
Pursuant to the APA, vacate and set aside the Policy and any other actions intended to give effect to the Proclamation;
Enjoin Defendants from taking any actions with respect to Plaintiff States, their agencies, or their political subdivisions intended to give effect to the Proclamation or Policy;
Award Plaintiff States reasonable attorney’s fees and costs; and
Grant Plaintiff States any other relief that the Court may deem just and proper.
The plaintiffs are represented by the Attorney Generals of California, Massachusetts, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawai'i, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, and Wisconsin (all dumocratic AG's).
On December 15, 2025 the suit was assigned to District Judge Leo T Sorokin and Magistrate Judge Jessica D Hedges (if the trial Judge issues an Order of Reference of any matter in this case to a Magistrate Judge).
Court ALLOWS Plaintiffs’ motion for summary judgment, Doc. No. 86, and DENIES Defendants’ cross-motion for summary judgment, Doc. No. 92. At the parties’ request, the Court DISMISSES WITHOUT PREJUDICE the claims against the Department of Justice, the Attorney General, the Department of Labor, and the Secretary of Labor. Defendants’ motion to dismiss, id., is OTHERWISE DENIED. The Policy implementing the Proclamation is declared unlawful and is VACATED in its entirety. The Clerk shall enter judgment in favor of Plaintiffs and against Defendants, with each side bearing its own fees and costs.
Of course, an immediate Notice of Appeal was filed by defendants on June 11, 2026 and the appeal was given docket# 26-1699.
On June 12, 2026, Judge Leo T Sorokin issued an electronic order that DENIED the Motion to Stay Pending Appeal.
This gives those employers who use H-1B visas leave to try to push as many H-1B visas through without the additional cost until such time as this is settled in the courts.

Today's Patriot is Henry Clay Sr who was born April 12, 1777 in Hanover County, Virginia of English descent (his ancestors settled in Virginia in 1613). He was 7th of 11 children, 7 of whom survived to adulthood (2 just barely). His father died in 1781 when Henry was just 4 years old. Shortly after the death of his father, the British raided his home. His mother married a successful planter. His mother would have 7 more children in this marriage.
Henry remained in Virginia after his mother remarried and learned to read and write. In 1791, the family moved to Kentucky but Henry remained behind working temporarily for the Richmond emporium hoping for a clerkship at the Virginia Court of Chancery which he received 1 year later. George Wythe (discussed in my September 3, 2025 ANP Article) chose Henry as his secretary because he noticed Henry's penmanship and George had a crippled hand. With George as a mentor, Henry started reading law. George arranged for Henry to finish his legal studies under the Virginia attorney general. In 1797, Henry was admitted to the Virginia Bar.
In 1797, Henry relocated to Lexington, Kentucky where he established his law practice focusing on debt collection and land disputes. He gained a reputation for strong legal ability and courtroom speaking. He later obtained a partner in the law firm, John Allen. He submitted the Supreme Court's first amicus curiae in the 1823 case Green v Biddle (which he lost).
On April 11, 1799, Henry married Lucretia Hart (1781-1864) in Lexington, Fayette, Kentucky. They had 12 children (8 of whom survived to adulthood (1 just barely). The story of his children is interesting. By 1835, all 6 daughters had died. Two in infancy, 2 as small children, and 2 probably in the childbirth of their own children. Of the 5 boys, Henry Jr was killed in the Battle of Buena Vista during the Mexican-American War. Theodore, who received a blow to his head that fractured his skull as a young child, devolved into insanity being confined to the asylum in Lexington from 1831 until he died in 1870. Thomas (who was jailed in Philadelphia for unknown reasons from 1829-1830) became a successful farmer. James established a legal practice and later served in Congress. And finally, John (who also spent time in an asylum during his mid-20s for a short time) became a successful horse breeder.
In 1805, Henry was appointed to the faculty of Transylvania University where he taught future Kentucky Governor Robert P Letcher and Robert Todd, the future father-in-law of Abraham Lincoln (discussed in my February 13, 2026 ANP Article).
Henry was interested in gambling; however, he did favor restrictions and legal limitations. There is a story that while gambling, he won a substantial amount but his opponent could not pay the bet. Henry asked for $500 of it, received that amount, and waived the rest. Later, while gambling with the same man, he lost about $60,000 which he could not pay. The man asked for $500 of it and waved the rest of the debt.
In 1804, Henry and his wife created a plantation of about 500 acres outside of Lexington which they called Ashland. He planted corn, wheat, rye, and hemp. He was interested in thoroughbred racing and imported Arabian horses, Maltese donkeys, and Hereford cattle among other livestock. Although he gambled and also suffered financial issues during economic downturns, he never went deeply into debt and left his wife and remaining children a large inheritance. After the deaths of Anne and Susan, Henry and his wife raised several of their children at Ashland.
In 1803, Henry was elected to the Kentucky House of Representatives. His first legislative action was the partisan gerrymander of Kentucky's Electoral College districts to ensure all presidential electors voted the same in the 1804 presidential election (all voting for Thomas Jefferson, who was discussed in my July 212, 2025 ANP Article).
In 1806, Henry was elected to the US Senate, where he remained for 2 months, returning to Kentucky in 1807 where he was elected as speaker of the State house of representatives.
In 1810, Henry was selected to fill US Senator Buckner Thruston's position when Thruston resigned to accept an appointment as a federal judge. He served for 1 year, found he did not like the Senate rules, so he sought election to the US House of Representatives which he won, unopposed, in 1810.
He served during the Madison administration (1811-1817) and Monroe administration (1817-1825). In 1824 he made a run for President since Monroe was retiring. He came in 4th. Although all 3 candidates asked for his support, Henry chose to support John Adams (discussed in my July 22, 2025 ANP Article). John Adams offered Henry the position of Secretary of State in his cabinet once elected. Henry accepted, although he did not support John Adams to be given a position in the cabinet. Henry would remain embroiled in politics until his health started failing, resigning on December 1851.
Henry died June 29, 1852 at age 75, from tuberculosis, in his room at the National Hotel in Washington, DC. He was the first person to lie in state in the United States Capitol rotunda. He is interred in the Lexington Cemetery, Lexington, Fayette, Kentucky.
